Ajang sarat internasionalisasi ini menanamkan pada para peserta untuk berkarya dan berinovasi dengan teknologi tanpa melupakan dampak sosial.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Saat menawarkan solusi, Acap kali orang berlatar belakang pendidikan teknik mengabaikan aspek sosial,&#8221; tutur Fransiskus Budi Kurnia , ketua pelaksana CommTECH Integrated Initiative 2017. Kelalaian tersebut berdampak pada banyak hal, salah satu contohnya ialah terjadinya salah paham antara masyarakat dan mahasiswa.<\/p>\n<p>Menjawab masalah tersebut, CommTECH kali ini berusaha menawarkan program yang dapat mengakomodasi peserta yang umumnya berlatar belakang keteknikan untuk mulai menggunakan pendekatan sosial juga. &#8220;Para peserta CommTECH kali ini merupakan mahasiswa teknik dari para perguruan tinggi yang menghadiri konsorsium ACNET-ENgtech dan EPI-UNET pekan depan,&#8221; terang pria yang akrab di sapa dengan Budi tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Disinggung mengenai sistem pembelajaran, Budi menjelaskan, metode yang digunakan dalam CommTECH Integrated Initiative 2017 ini berupa <em>project based.<\/em> &#8220;Peserta dituntut menyelesaikan permasalahan sosial dengan menerapkan pendekatan lewat materi yang diberikan,&#8221; ungkap mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Kimia ITS ini.<\/p>\n<p>Pemberian materi dilakukan dengan melakukan kunjungan ke berbagai proyek sosial yang tedapat di kota Malang. Tak hanya itu, CommTECH pun turut mengundang mahasiswa pemenang Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa (PKM) untuk memberikan berbagai pandangan terkait bagaimana mewujudkan inovasi dengan mengedepankan pendekatan sosial.<\/p>\n<p>Sebanyak 65 peserta nantinya dibagi menjadi kelompok-kelompok kecil berisikan lima orang. Tiap kelompok bertanggungjawab untuk mempresentasikan inovasi mereka dalam bentuk poster yang akan dipamerkan pada <em>Exhibition<\/em> pekan depan, (28\/11).<\/p>\n<p>Dengan metode tersebut, lanjut Budi, diharapkan dapat memperluas wawasan para peserta. \u201cMereka nantinya akan bahu-membahu memecahkan masalah yang diberikan dengan pendekatan yang berbeda-beda berdasarkan disiplin ilmu, pengalaman, serta latar belakang mereka,\u201d tukas mahasiswa tahun ketiga ini.
