Hal ini karena dunia desain kini mulai menerjang batas antara seni, bisnis dan teknologi dan ITS memiliki senjata untuk menaklukkan ketiganya.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Hal ini diungkapkan oleh Adi di Departemen Desain Produk Industri Sabtu (18\/11). Menurutnya, ia \u00a0melihat peluang yang sangat besar di ITS. \u201cSalah satunya karena banyak alumni dari ITS ada di beberapa industri besar,\u201d ucapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Pria yang dilantik sebagai ketua ADPII di hari yang sama ini kemudian menerangkan jika saat ini sedang digencarkan pengembangan dunia desain sebagai motor penting penggerak ekonomi di Indonesia. Gerakan ini disebut Gerakan Desain Indonesia. Gerakan ini\u00a0 berusaha mengembangkan produk yang dapat didesain, diproduksi dan juga dikonsumsi oleh warga negara Indonesia sendiri.<\/p>\n<p>Anggota The Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo ini mengungkapkan untuk mewujudkan visi itu, diperlukan dukungan sumber daya manusia serta sarana dan prasarana dalam desain untuk peranan di pendidikan. Misalnya dalam dunia <em>craft<\/em><em>ing (kerajinan tangan, red)<\/em>. Kini industri <em>crafting<\/em> memerlukan strategi desain juga, misalnya strategi transformasi tradisi yang mempertemukan emosional dengan rasional. \u201cSelain itu, juga dibutuhkan aplikasi teknologi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan industri,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n<p>Adi menambahkan bahwa solusi desain telah dilakukan di negara-negara lain, termasuk di negara yang telah maju sekali pun. \u201cMisalnya China yang bangkit sebagai raksasa ekonomi nomor satu di dunia. China sekarang bukan hanya sebagai tempat produksi dengan biaya yang rendah, namun juga tempat para konsumen berbelanja karena kehebatan strategi mereka,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n<p>Maka dari itu diperlukan banyak desain produk yang ditelurkan agar Indonesia bisa segera bersaing di pasar global. Caranya adalah dengan bantuan teknologi yang mumpuni. ITS yang merupakan kampus teknologi dan sekaligus memiliki disiplin ilmu desain sangat diharapkan bisa berkonstribusi dalam pengembangan sektor industri kreatif Indonesia. \u201cJurusan ini (Departemen Desain Produk Industri ITS, red) strategis, karena banyak <em>stakeholder<\/em> di sekitarnya yang menaruh harapan tinggi,\u201d pungkas <em>trader<\/em> PT Jendela Indonesia Sejahtera ini.
