Kegiatan yang mengusung tema The Strategic Role of Blue Technology in the Global Economic Shift ini mulai terselenggara dari Jumat (24\/10) sampai Minggu (26\/10) di Rektorat ITS.<\/p>\n

Dr Ing Setyo Nugroho, wakil dekan Fakultas Teknologi Kelautan (FTK) ITS mengatakan, sejak dirintis oleh ITS pada tahun 1998, Martec diselenggarakan setiap dua tahun sekali. Gelaran ini sebelumnya didasarkan pada konsep negara ASEAN yang akan membentuk jaringan regional dan kerja sama antara akademisi dan industri.<\/p>\n

Konferensi internasional yang mengundang puluhan negara dari empat benua ini berupaya menyediakan forum untuk saling bertukar pikiran, pengalaman dan penelitian antar peneliti regional dan internasional dalam lingkup teknologi kelautan yang lebih luas.<\/p>\n

Selain itu, Yoyok panggilan akrab Setyo Nugroho, menambahkan, Martec sendiri bertujuan untuk mendorong kerja sama yang lebih baik antara lembaga akademik, industri, dan pemerintah. "Sekaligus memperkuat jaringan regional dan internasional antarnegara, khususnya di bidang kemaritiman," jelas Sekretaris Martec 2014 ini.<\/p>\n

Pembahasan dalam Martec sendiri melingkupi semua aspek kemaritiman yang mencakup teknologi kelautan, ilmu kelautan dan manajemen kelautan. Para peserta pun terdiri dari beberapa dosen, peneliti dan mahasiswa.<\/p>\n

"Mereka semua diundang untuk saling berdiskusi dalam hal pengembangan teknologi pengembangan kelautan dan penerapannya," ujar dosen jurusan Teknik Perkapalan ITS ini.<\/p>\n

Dari acara ini, Yoyok berharap, para peneliti dan akademisi yang diundang bisa menyampaikan hasil riset yang didapat kepada industri kemaritiman.
