EC juga singkatan Electric Car,&quot; ujar M. Nuh dalam peluncuran mobil listrik tersebut di Gedung Rektorat ITS Surabaya, Sabtu (26\/1).<\/p>\n<p>Mendikbud berharap, pemberian nama EC ITS mampu menjadi motivator bagi yang lain untuk membuktikan hasil karyanya. Mantan Rektor ITS Surabaya tersebut juga memuji, bahwa mobil berwarna putih metalik itu bagus secara fundamental dan desain.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Indonesia akan menjadi tuan rumah beberapa kegiatan internasional, salah satunya APEC yang diselenggarakan di Bali. Tidak ada salahnya mobil ini dipamerkan dan menjadi karya luar biasa bagi tamu negara. Sehingga bendera ITS bisa berkibar semakin besar,&quot; kata M Nuh.<\/p>\n<p>Rektor ITS Surabaya, Prof Ir Triyogi Yuwono DEA, mengaku bangga dengan prestasi yang diraih mahasiswanya dalam membuat mobil listrik. Ia mendukung program mobil listrik nasional (molina) seperti yang digaungkan pemerintah pusat.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kami mendukung mobil listrik nasional. Kami memiliki kemampuan ikut membantu menyukseskannya. Kami juga ingin membuktikan bahwa insinyur-insinyur muda diberi kesempatan untuk menunjukkan kualitasnya,&quot; kata Prof Triyogi.<\/p>\n<p>Sementara itu, Dosen Pembimbing Teknik Mesin ITS Dr M Nur Yuniarto mengatakan, mobil listrik ini memang untuk skala riset sejak 2011. Namun bila pemerintah berniat mengembangkan untuk skala industri, pihaknya siap membantu riset lanjutan.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Yang jelas, mayoritas komponen mobil city car listrik itu buatan mahasiswa kami. Kecuali motor penggerak atau baterai yang masih beli dari luar negeri. Namun kalau nantinya dijadikan skala industri, tentu kami akan merancang baterai dalam negeri,&quot; tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Nur Yuniarto juga menjelaskan, mahasiswa ITS sudah mampu merancang sistem kontrol mesin iquteche yang selama ini digunakan mobil berbahan bakar bensin. Namun sistem itu juga dapat diaplikasikan untuk mobil listrik. Nur mengaku butuh waktu tiga bulan untuk menyelesaikan mobil tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kalau baterai juga dapat dibuat di dalam negeri, maka seratus persen komponen mobil city car listrik itu buatan dalam negeri. Sehingga harganya akan bisa lebih murah dari biaya riset yang kami perlukan selama ini, yakni Rp400 juta hingga Rp500 juta,&quot; ujarnya.
