Mereka mengaku menerima Dr Ir Mohammad Nuh sebagai bakal calon (balon) rektor ITS. Melunaknya sikap mahasiswa ini diakui oleh Presiden BEM Nugroho Fredivianus. &quot;Tapi, bukan berarti kami menerima mekanisme pemilihan rektor yang tidak transparan lho,&quot; katanya kepada Jawa Pos, kemarin.<\/p>\n<p>Menurutnya, seluruh komponen mahasiswa ITS memberi waktu bagi rektor untuk menunjukkan komitmen yang tinggi terhadap perbaikan kinerja kampus. &quot;Kami putuskan untuk wait and see dulu,&quot; ujar Nugroho. Bahkan, Nugroho mengajukan beberapa persyaratan yang harus dilakukan rektor terpilih. <\/p>\n<p>Apa saja? &quot;Semua elemen kampus, termasuk karyawan dan mahasiswa harus didayagunakan semaksimal mungkin,&quot; ujarnya. Nugroho juga meminta agar rektor terpilih selalu mengedepankan tranparansi. &quot;Jangan sampai membuat keputusan menyangkut mahasiswa tanpa melibatkan mahasiwa,&quot; papar mahasiswa semester lima ini. Seperti diberitakan, mahasiswa ITS yang tergabung dalam BEM, LM (Legislatif Mahasiswa) dan HMJ (Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan) getol menolak mekanisme pemilihan balon rektor. Sebab, mahasiwa merasa tidak pernah dilibatkan dalam proses penentuan para balon rektor. Penolakan mahasiwa ini diwujudkan dengan menggelar aksi demo saat proses penjaringan rektor. <\/p>\n<p>Sejak kampanye tahap pertama hingga proses penetapan lima balon, mahasiswa selalu mewarnainya dengan aksi unjuk rasa. Namun, saat digelar debat terbuka untuk menentukan tiga balon yang akan diajukan ke Mendiknas Senin (4 November) lalu, aksi seperti itu tidak ada lagi. Dan acara debat pun berlangsung mulus. Seusai debat, Senat ITS melakukan pemilihan balon. Hasilnya, Dr M Nuh terpilih sebagai balon rektor terkuat, dengan mengantongi suara terbanyak.<\/p>\n<p>Bagaimanakah tanggapan M. Nuh mengenai persyaratan yang diajukan mahasiswa? &quot;Tanpa diminta pun saya pasti akan berbuat seperti itu. Toh semua permintaan mahasiswa itu juga merupakan program kerja saya,&quot; katanya. Pria asli Surabaya ini juga menyatakan akan merangkul semua komponen kampus demi kemajuan ITS. &quot;Kebersamaan dan kerjasama dengan mahasiswa adalah bagian dari program kerja saya jika terpilih sebagai rektor,&quot; tandasnya.
