Seperti pelatihan sebelumnya, PENS-ITS bekerja sama dengan Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Ke-13 peserta datang dari Srilanka, Nepal, Filipina, Laos, Indonesia dan Vietnam. &quot;Pelatihan ini bisa memperkecil gap teknologi sesama negara berkembang. Bagi kami, ini sama dengan upaya meng-angkat citra bangsa Indonesia,&quot; tandas Direktur PENS-ITS Dr Mohammad Nuh DEA, Selasa (6\/2). Ditambahkan, pelatihan ITS-JICA itu dimaksudkan membekali partisipan dari negara berkembang di bidang teknologi. Kelak masyarakat tak hanya jadi konsumen dari produk teknologi negara-negara maju, melainkan juga dapat jadi produsen teknologi. Saat pelatihan, para partisipan tak hanya menerima materi, mereka juga menularkan keah-lian. Selain tukar keahlian, peserta pelatihan membahas kemungkinan menghasilkan produk bersama yang bisa dipakai bersama.
