Maklum ada lomba dayung perahu naga yang digelar di sungai Kalimas di dekat jalan itu. Pemenang lomba yang diadakan dalam rangka memperingati Dies natalis ITS ke &#8211; 41 ini mendapat hadiah seekor kambing selain piala dari rektor.<\/p>\n<p>Perlombaan ini dipelopori oleh Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Olah Raga Air Divisi dayung. Pesertanya 20 kelompok dari berbagai jurusan yang di ITS. Menurut Ketua Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa Olah Raga Air, Yusuf Ekobudi, lomba ini bertujuan mempopulerkan olah raga dayung di kalangan masyarakat.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Sebab peminat oleh raga ini masih sedikit,&quot; ujar Eko. Dia optimis jika lomba semacam sering digelar maka peminatnya akan bertambah. &quot;Selain itu lomba inijuga ajang untuk mencari mereka yang berbakat,&quot; imbuhnya.<\/p>\n<p>Lomba ini menempuh lintasan 500 meter. dimulai di depan kompleks pertokoan Andhika Plaza dan berakhir di samping rumah dinas Pangarmatim di Jl. Yos Sudarso.
