Contohnya dalam internal kampus, seperti berbagai acara dan pembangunan dalam ITS yaitu mengubah kampus ITS untuk kembali membangun kampus yang hijau, asri dan nyaman. Perubahan lain yang cukup berarti diantaranya penanaman berkala ribuan pohon, <em>Fun Bike<\/em> Jakarta-Surabaya, &nbsp;pembatasan penggunaan listrik dan yang paling terakhir adalah pembangunan jalur khusus sepeda yang memberikan fasilitas jalan khusus bagi orang yang bersepeda.<\/p>\n<p>Sorotan yang saya berikan dalam pembahasan kali ini adalah pembangunan khusus sepeda. Pembangunan ini cukup lama diselesaikan karena sebelumnya ITS tidak mempunyai jalur khusus tersebut, apalagi luas kampus ITS bisa dikatakan tergolong sangat luas. Menginjak bulan Januari 2013, pembangunan jalur ini telah rampung setelah sekitar satu bulan lebih. Melihat perubahan itu, saya sangat mengapresiasi karena ITS telah memberikan bukti bahwa ITS serius untuk menciptakan kampus yang berbasis peduli lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Namun kenyataannya, jalur khusus sepeda tersebut masih sangat kurang peminatnya. Bisa diperkirakan hanya 5 persen warga ITS yang menggunakan jalur tersebut. Baik dosen mapun mahasiswa masih memilih transportasi pribadi dengan kendaraan bermotor, yaitu sepeda motor dan mobil. Hal ini sangat ironis jika fasilitas jalur khusus sepeda yang digadang-gadang sebagai bukti nyata perubahan kampus ITS yang hijau masih berasap oleh kendaraan bermotor. Jalur tersebut bakal jadi penghias jalan di ITS semata. Banyak alasan yang jadi kenapa mereka masih memilih kendaraan dari pada sepeda diantaranya males karena capek, tidak adanya parkiran khusus sepeda sehingga takut hilang, dan lain sebagainya.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih parahnya lagi terkadang jalur tersebut masih dilewati kendaraan bermotor seperti parkir sembarangan dan melewati jalur tersebut dengan kecepatan tinggi. Hal ini dapat mengganggu kenyamanan orang yang bersepeda dan mengancam keselamatan orang yang bersepeda di jalur tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Tidak seperti kampus lain seperti Universitas Indonesia &nbsp;(UI) dan Univeritas Gajah Mada (UGM) yang kedua kampus tersebut telah lama menyuruh seluruh warganya untuk bersepeda di dalam kampus. Sehingga timbul pertanyaan apa perlu menunggu kesadaran warga ITS untuk menggunakan jalur tersebut dengan sukacita ataukah perlu kebijakan khusus dari Rektor ITS untuk menyuruh warganya baik dosen, karyawan maupun mahasiswa wajib menggunakan sepeda di dalam kampus ITS. Minimal, jalur tersebut digunakan semaksimal mungkin dan memberikan zona aman bahwa jalur khusus sepeda di ITS tidak boleh digunakan oleh jalur kendaraan bermotor.<\/p>\n<p>M.
