Akrab disapa Tami ini mendapati, di ITS sendiri belum ada pengolahan sampah kemasan botol air mineral. Darisanalah, Tami tergerak untuk menciptakan alat yang dapat mengolah limbah sampah tersebut menjadi bahan bakar minyak.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Awalnya limbah plastik dicacah menjadi potongan-potongan kecil. Kemudian cacahan tersebut diproses dengan metode pirolisis,&quot; terang Tami. Pirolisis merupakan proses dekomposisi bahan anorganik melalui proses pemanasan. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Hasil dari proses pirolisis ini adalah&nbsp;<em>liquid fuel<\/em>&nbsp;atau bahan bakar minyak,&quot; lanjut mahasiswi asal Malang ini.&nbsp;<em>Liquid fuel<\/em>&nbsp;inilah yang nantinya dikomposisikan dengan hasil fermentasi&nbsp;<em>bioetanol<\/em>&nbsp;dari eceng gondok menjadi bahan bakar minyak yang beroktan tinggi.<\/p>\n<p> &quot;Kita komposisikan sedemikian rupa agar mirip dengan nilai oktan bensin. Yaitu 90 persen&nbsp;<em>bioetanol<\/em>&nbsp;dan 10 persen&nbsp;<em>liquid fuel<\/em>,&quot; jelas Tami sembari menunjukan diagram keseluruhan proses pembuatan&nbsp;<em>BioFuel<\/em>&nbsp;ini.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tidak tanggung-tanggung, inovasinya ini berhasil memboyong dua piala juara satu dari dua ajang Karya Tulis Ilmiah (KTI) yang berbeda, yaitu Lomba KTI Bio Fest yang diselenggarakan oleh Departemen Biologi Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret (UNS) dan Lomba KTI Environment Festival yang diselenggarakan oleh Departemen Teknik Lingkungan Universitas Airlangga.<\/p>\n<p>Ditemui disela kesibukannya, mahasiswa yang akrab disapa Tami ini bersedia berbagi kisah kepada ITS Online. Pengalamannya ini ia mulai dari kesukaannya dalam bidang tulis menulis. &quot;Saya melihat salah seorang teman saya yang sukses dari menulis, saya merasa iri lalu tertantang untuk turut menulis,&quot; ujar Tami yang kemudian menyukai bidang kepenulisan ilmiah.<\/p>\n<p>Tami menegaskan, ide menulis hakikatnya bisa muncul dari mana saja. Terutama dari lingkungan sekitar. Namun seringkali sebagian orang berasumsi membuat karya tulis ilmiah itu sulit. &nbsp;&quot;Sangat disayangkan bila kita mengatakan sulit, tapi belum pernah mencoba untuk menulis,&quot; pungkas Kepala Departemen Riset dan Teknologi Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Kimia.<\/p>\n<p>Kedepannya, Tami sangat berharap dapat mempresentasikan karya terbaiknya ini di konferensi internasional. &quot;Target terdekat adalah ajang <em>Call for Paper<\/em> di Hokkaido, Jepang.&quot; ujar Tami menutup kisahnya.(io1\/riz)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sri Utami, salah satu mahasiswa Departemen Teknik Kimia Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) berhasil mempertahankan predikat ITS sebagai kampus yang unggul dalam inovasi energi.
