Seperti diketahui, HNMUN merupakan kompetisi simulasi sidang PBB yang digelar Universitas Harvard, Amerika, dan diikuti ITS sejak 2012 silam. Dikatakan Irfanda Odytia, salah satu delegasi, hal ini membuktikan mahasiswa ITS juga unggul dalam hal berdiplomasi di forum internasional yang digelar selama empat hari sejak (11\/2) ini. <\/p>\n

Ia menjelaskan setelah melewati tahapan seleksi kompetisi SVC Desember 2015, kontingen ITS berhasil masuk ke dalam sembilan besar dunia dan berhak mengikuti babak final. ”Lima tim dari sembilan besar itu berasal dari Indonesia dimana tiga diantaranya merupakan delegasi ITS,” tutur mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Industri ITS ini.<\/p>\n

Menurutnya, pencapaian tersebut bukanlah perkara mudah lantaran setiap peserta harus mempelajari penyatuan dasar keilmuan teknologi, sains, dan politik. ”Dan lagi yang penting adalah kerja tim di sini, kita harus sama-sama berani mencoba dan berkomitmen. Kita juga harus percaya bahwa semua impian kita pasti bisa dicapai,” ungkapnya.<\/p>\n

Selain lolos kompetisi SVC, lanjutnya, tiga mahasiswa ITS lainnya juga menuai pujian dalam working paper<\/em>. Mereka adalah Maulana Syarif dan Yosar Fatahillah (Teknik Geofisika) serta Benyamin Indra (Teknik Mesin). Ketiganya berhasil membentuk aliansi bersama negara lain dimana dalam working paper <\/em>inilah rancangan solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan terbesar dunia dibuat.
