Kegiatan bertaraf nasional digelar oleh komunitas Uber Allies di Graha Sepuluh Nopember kemarin (04\/05). Bertajuk &#8216;Mechanical Expo 2004&#8217; (ME), acara ini menampilkan karya-karya ilmiah terbaik dari T. Mesin seluruh Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>ME dibuka oleh Finaria, Asisten Deputi Ristek Bidang Pendayagunaan dan Pemasyarakatan Iptek mewakili Menristek, Hatta Rajasa, yang berhalangan hadir.. Deru motor menggantikan gema gong yang biasanya menandai dibukanya suatu acara. Sebelumnya, Finaria mengharapkan ME bisa memunculkan produk unggulan yang berdaya saing tinggi. &quot;Karenanya, kegiatan seperti ini harus kita dukung,&quot; tekan Finaria.<\/p>\n<p>Mechanical Expo 2004 ini diikuti oleh perwakilan mahasiswa T. Mesin dari seluruh Indonesia. Mulai dari ujung barat, Aceh (Universitas Syah Kuala-USK) hingga Indonesia timur, Makasar (Universitas Hasanudin-Unhas). Masing-masing dari mereka mengusung karya terbaiknya ke ITS.<\/p>\n<p>T. Mesin USK misalnya. Mereka memamerkan miniatur alat pembuat pisang sale. Dengan alat ini, proses pembuatan pisang sale yang biasanya makan waktu berhari-hari bisa dipersingkat menjadi 7-8 jam. Menurut Maidi, modifikasi penyeragaman temperatur pada alat inilah yang membuat proses pembuatan pisang sale menjadi lebih cepat. &quot;Jadi, produksi bisa diperbanyak tiap harinya,&quot; jelas mahasiswa angkatan 99 ini.<\/p>\n<p>Dari ITS sendiri, komunitas merah ini mengusung Becak Lamongan. Alat transportasi yang merupakan perpaduan sepeda motor dengan becak ini merupakan karya mahasiswa T. Mesin yang diperbantukan ke Pemkab Lamongan setahun lalu. &quot;Karenanya, becak ini terkenal dengan Becak Lamongan,&quot; jelas Hasan, mahasiswa angkatan 2002 yang kebetulan menjaga standnya.<\/p>\n<p>ME yang sedianya dilaksanakan selama tiga hari ini, terbuka bebas bagi semua mahasiswa dan masyarakat. Untuk lebih memancing minat masyarakat terhadapa ME, di luar graha ITS dibuka servis gratis yang dikhususkan untuk sepeda motor bebek tahun 1997 ke atas.(rin\/rom)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tak semua acara, dibuka dengan dentang gong.
