Mahasiswa jurusan Teknik Mesin tersebut menuturkan bahwa di UKM Pramuka banyak kegiatan yang disesuaikan dengan hobi dan kesenangan para anggotanya.<\/p>\n<p>Akhirnya Ghaffar bersama satu rekannya, Mohamad Ridwan tanpa pikir panjang langsung lomba <em>aeromodelling <\/em>yang diadakan oleh KONI. Dua lomba <em>aeromodelling <\/em>yang mereka ikuti yaitu <em>chuck glider<\/em> dan <em>U control<\/em>. &quot;<em>Chuck glider<\/em> adalah melemparkan pesawat kayu balsa dan dihitung waktu mengudara,&quot; papar Ridwan. Pemenang <em>chuck glider<\/em> adalah pesawat yang memiliki waktu di udara paling lama. Meskipun telah berlatih berbagai teknik pelemparan, sayangnya mereka gagal menyabet juara dengan waktu mengudara 220 detik.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;<em>U Control<\/em> adalah mengendalikan terbangnya pesawat dengan tali,&quot; ungkap Ghaffar. Pada lomba <em>U control<\/em>, pesawat terbang melingkar dengan sirip yang bisa berbelok karena dikendalikan oleh tali sepanjang 16 meter.&nbsp; Pesawat diberi waktu maksimal tiga menit untuk mengudara dalam sepuluh putaran, peserta dianggap gugur apabila melebihi waktu tersebut. Takaran bahan bakar menjadi tantangan tersendiri oleh peserta dari UKM Pramuka ini, karena bahan bakar pesawat harus habis kurang atau tepat tiga menit mengudara.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kami mendapat juara satu di kategori <em>U control<\/em>,&quot; celoteh Ghaffar sambil menunjukkan contoh pesawat yang digunakan saat lomba.&nbsp; Ghaffar mengalahkan peserta lainnya yang juga dari kalangan umum dengan waktu 36 detik untuk sepuluh putaran.<\/p>\n<p>Ghaffar memenangkan kejuaraan tersebut berkat latihannya berkali-kali dengan menerbangkan pesawat dengan panjang sekitar setengah meter tersebut. &quot;Saat latihan, sayap pesawatnya patah sehingga ganti pesawat sehari sebelum lomba,&quot; cerita Ghaffar. Mahasiswa angkatan 2008 ini sempat khawatir karena pesawat baru tersebut belum pernah di tes penerbangan sehari penuh sebagai syaratnya.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Setelah ini kami akan mempersiapkan sebaik-baiknya kejuaraan daerah <em>chuck glider<\/em> dan <em>U control<\/em> di akhir Januari nanti,&quot; tutup Ghaffar.(el\/hoe)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Pramuka bukan sekedar berkutat pada bidang kepramukaan saja, ternyata didalamnya banyak klub-klub yang dibentuk berdasarkan hobi dan kesenangan.
