Apalagi, tema yang dilombakan merupakan bidang ilmu yang selama ini ia geluti. Tema lomba tersebut adalah <em>Cinta Perpustakaan Indonesia. <br \/><\/em><br \/>Aroem begitu panggilan akrabnya dalam tulisannya hanya menceritakan pengalamannya selama bekerja sebagai pustakawan ruang baca FTK. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Tulisan saya berdasarkan pengalaman bekerja sehari-hari, yang saya aktualisasi dalam bahasa tulis, budaya minat baca di perpustakaan dan sedikit tentang Teknologi Informasi (TI),\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujar Aroem yang menulis judul <em>Membangun Perpustakaan Ideal Melalui Pendekatan Budaya Masyarakat <\/em>ini.<\/p>\n<p>Peserta tertua dalam kompetisi yang diikuti 462 peserta ini juga menyoroti tentang peran dan kepedulian pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan kualitas sebuah perpustakaan. Tak hanya itu, ia juga menyoroti bagaimana seharusnya sang pustakawan dapat mengevaluasi dan mengembangkan program berbasis teknologi informasi.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Dalam tulisan ini, saya berharap agar suatu saat perpustakaan dapat diterima oleh seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Untuk itu, perlu kesungguhan berbagai pihak untuk mencitrakan perpustakaan sebagai tempat yang ideal dalam mendapatkan informasi secara cepat dan tepat,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ujar Aroem yang selalu menulis dalam <em>blog<\/em> dan <em>website<\/em>-nya yang beralamatkan di www.gabunpustaka.co.nr.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk ruang baca FTK sendiri, Aroem memiliki beberapa masukan kepada ITS. Salah satu masukannya adalah menambahkan beberapa alat bantu berupa model miniatur&nbsp; seperti kapal dan mesin kapal serta bangunan <em>offshore <\/em>yang pasti dibutuhkan mahasiswa. &quot;Ini agar pengguna yang rata-rata mahasisiwa FTK tidak hanya melihat dari gambar tapi langsung ke bentuk tiga dimensinya,&quot; saran perempuan kelahiran Madiun, 29 September 1962 ini.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, ke depan ia juga berharap mampu memberikan pelayanan yang maksimal pada seluruh mahasiswa. &quot;Saat ini, saya harus selalu belajar IT untuk mempermudah membantu mahasiswa memakai fasilitas perpustakaan. Kalau saya tidak bisa bantu, bisa mengecewakan pengguna,&quot; jelas Aroem yang juga dikenal sering meminjam buku materi dari dosen untuk di fotokopi lalu dipinjamkan pada mahasiswa. <\/p>\n<p>Di akhir pembicaraan, Aroem berpesan pada seluruh sivitas akademika ITS untuk selalu menggunakan hati dalam segala hal, terutama untuk bekerja dan menulis. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Menulis itu merupakan buah ungkapan pikiran yang dibenarkan oleh hati.
