Baik dari tim Sacred Warrior maupun Anak Kampoeng, mereka tampak sebagaimana mahasiswa pada umumnya yang ceria dan suka bercanda tawa. Jika diantara mereka ada yang menarik, mungkin itu adalah M Masbuchin dengan <em>style<\/em> rambutnya yang unik atau Arya Nugraha Nawing yang  cenderung agak pendiam. Keduanya dari Sacred Warrior.<\/p>\n<p>Namun dibalik itu semua, siapa yang menyangka bila mereka adalah jago-jago <em>coding<\/em> yang baru saja mengharumkan nama ITS di ranah kompetisi IBM. Mengusung aplikasi <em>mobile<\/em> berbasis<em> open source<\/em> Java, kedua tim berhasil menyisihkan para pesaingnya yang berasal dari 12 perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Bahkan, Sacred Warrior sebagai Juara I berhak mewakili Indonesia mengunjungi pusat penelitian software IBM di India.<\/p>\n<p>Rizky Ramadhan, ketua tim Sacred Warrior, menjelaskan bahwa dalam kompetisi tersebut timnya membuat sebuah aplikasi <em>mobile <\/em>yang disebut Pemantau Lalu Lintas Lapindo (PL3). &quot;Sesuai dengan namanya, aplikasi ini mampu memberikan informasi terkait keadaan jalan, jalur alternatif, sekaligus peta di sekitar lokasi bencana lumpur Lapindo,&quot; tutur Rizky.<\/p>\n<p>Secara teknis, lanjut Rizky, PL3 terdiri atas aplikasi untuk <em>client<\/em>, kontributor, dan server. Sisi <em>client <\/em>digunakan bagi mereka yang ingin mengetahui informasi keadaan lalu lintas dan kontributor untuk mereka yang secara kontinu memberikan informasi kondisi jalan. Adapun server digunakan untuk mengatur manajemen informasi yang diminta oleh <em>client<\/em> atau yang di<em>-update<\/em> oleh kontributor. &quot;Tentu untuk server ada admin tersendiri yang menangani. Dia dapat mengelolanya melalui sebuah web,&quot; ujar Arya, anggota Sacred Warrior yang lain menambahkan.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut Rizky, aplikasi ini sangat mudah digunakan. &quot;Di setiap pergantian menunya, ada petunjuk atau <em>Help<\/em>,&quot; ujarnya sambil menunjukkan demo PL3 di laptop. Ada empat menu yang tersedia pada aplikasi tersebut, yakni menu Berita, Peta, Update, dan Tentang. &quot;Menu-menu tersebut ada pada sisi client. Untuk kontributor ada satu tambahan lagi, yaitu menu Kondisi,&quot; terang Rizky.<\/p>\n<p>Selain mudah digunakan, PL3 buatan Sacred Warrior ternyata diklaim gampang pula diimplementasikan. &quot;Karena <em>open source<\/em>, pembangunan program ini tak membutuhkan biaya besar. Implementasinya pun sangat mudah, tinggal main <em>deploy <\/em>saja ke HP (<em>Hand Phone<\/em>, Red). Kalau pun ada kendala itu ya HP-nya yang harus<em> support<\/em> Java dan GPRS,&quot; jelas Buchin, sapaan akrab M Masbuchin, ganti angkat suara.<\/p>\n<p>Tak mau kalah dengan Sacred Warrior, tim Anak Kampoeng pun unjuk gigi bersama laptopnya. Beranggotakan Hudan Studiawan, Mirza Aulia Rahman, dan  Ariana Yunita, tim yang juga sempat masuk sepuluh besar Imagine Cup 2008 ini membuat aplikasi bernama Surabaya City Online Guide.<\/p>\n<p>Berdasar keterangan Ariana, aplikasi ini berfungsi untuk membantu menemukan tempat-tempat tertentu di Surabaya mulai dari mall, rumah sakit, ATM, hingga warung soto. &quot;Sangat cocok buat para pendatang atau mereka yang sudah lama tinggal di Surabaya yang ingin mengetahui pojok-pojoknya kota Pahlawan,&quot; tegas Ariana sambil tersenyum.<\/p>\n<p>Namun, imbuh Ariana, informasi tempat yang tersimpan untuk aplikasi ini masih sangatlah terbatas. &quot;Data tempat yang disediakan sangat tergantung dari ketelitian peta yang kita gunakan. Untuk saat ini kita menggunakan map yang berada di navigasi.net,&quot; paparnya.<\/p>\n<p>Sebagaimana aplikasi mobile PL3, aplikasi buatan Anak Kampoeng juga menyediakan menu-menu khusus untuk client-nya. Menu tersebut adalah menu Cari Tempat yang menampilkan list tempat dari database dan menu Cari Manual yang menampilkan daftar tempat berdasarkan kata kunci yang diketikkan pengguna. &quot;Tempat yang dicari bila diketemukan nantinya akan ditandai dengan kotak kuning dalam peta,&quot; ujar Ariana sambil menunjukkan gambar kotak kecil dalam program yang didemokan timnya.<\/p>\n<p>Kejutan ITS dalam memborong juara IBM The Great Mind Challenge sebenarnya tak hanya melalui tim Sacred Warrior dan Anak Kampoeng saja. Ada satu tim lain yang menjadi juara III, yakni tim Open Source Community (OSC) yang berasal dari Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) ITS.
