{"id":26277,"date":"2007-06-21T15:07:00","date_gmt":"2007-06-21T15:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2007\/06\/21\/alternatif-desain-silinder-masa-depan\/"},"modified":"2007-06-21T15:07:00","modified_gmt":"2007-06-21T15:07:00","slug":"alternatif-desain-silinder-masa-depan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/alternatif-desain-silinder-masa-depan\/","title":{"rendered":"Alternatif Desain Silinder Masa Depan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dalam penelitian di laboratorium Mekanika Fluida Jurusan Teknik Mesin, dekan termuda di lingkungan ITS itu menemukan berbagai kemungkinan untuk membuat silinder dilakukan irisan pada bagian-bagian tertentu agar bisa lebih memperkecil gaya drag sekaligus memperoleh hasil rancangan teknik yang optimum. \u201cKami telah mencoba melakukan penelitian dengan melakukan irisan pada silinder sirkuler, yang diiris pada salah satu sisi yang kami sebut silinder tipe D, dan diiris dikedua sisinya yang disebut tipe I. Hasilnya, dengan sudut irisan tertentu telah terbukti mampu memperkecil gaya drag yang mungkin terjadi dibanding bila silinder sirkuler atau tidak teriris,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Karena itu, kata ayah tiga orang anak ini, dalam orasi ilmiah pengukuhannya yang diberi judul \u201cTinjauan Dinamika Fluida pada Silinder Sirkuler Teriris sebagai Bentuk Alternatif dalam Aplikasi Teknik\u201d ia menyarankan ke depan untuk mempertimbangkan melakukan desain silinder pada berbagai aplikasi teknik tidak hanya sirkuler seperti sekarang, tapi dilakukan desain silinder teriris baik tipe D maupun tipe I. \u201cMengingat banyak sekali peralatan teknik yang memanfaatkan bentuk dasar silinder sirkuler, maka menarik untuk dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang karakteristik aliran sekitar silinder sirkuler, baik tunggal maupun berkelompok,\u201d ungkap laki-laki kelahiran Tulungagung, 29 Januari 1960 ini.<\/p>\n<p>Doktor lulusan <em>Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble<\/em>, Perancis ini mengungkapkan, sebagai salah satu contoh aplikasi dari apa yang telah ditelitinya selama ini adalah pada tiang pancang bangunan lepas pantai, yang dapat dianggap sebagai susunan multi silinder sirkuler, yang seringkali dilengkapi dengan <em>zinc anode<\/em> yang berfungsi untuk menghambat terjadinya korosi pada bagian tiang pancang.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPemasangan <em>zinc anode<\/em> ini ternyata berdampak samping terhadap terbentuknya gaya-gaya aerodinamika atau hidrodinamika pada tiang itu, sehingga aliran fluida yang mengalir melintasi suatu profil silinder tegak menghasilkan gaya drag yang seringkali merugikan. Tapi dengan menggunakan bentuk <em>zinc anode<\/em> dari silinder teriris baik tipe I maupin tipe D, sangat mungkin gaya drag dapat dikurangi,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam skala di laboratorium, ungkap suami dari Yuyun Setiawinarni ini, harga minimum koefisien <em>pressure darg<\/em> bisa mencapai 60 sampai 80 persen lebih kecil dari harga koefisien <em>pressure darg<\/em> silinder sirkuler yang tidak terisiri. Ini artinya, dengan silinder teriris baik itu tipe I maupun tipe D pada lokasi irisan tertentu, akan dapat mengurangi gaya <em>drag<\/em>, sehingga aplikasinya bisa lebih mengurangi biaya dalam membangun bentuk-bentuk silinder yang selama ini banyak diaplikasikan untuk kebutuhan industri seperti pada tiang pancang bangunan lepas pantai, struktur jembatan layang, bejana bertekanan pada insdustri kimia, kabel listrik bertegangan tinggi, cerobong, pendingin komponen elektronik dan lainnya.
