Sedangkan, dalam konsentrasi 8 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 10 %, karbondioksida dapat menyebabkan pusing dan mual. Apabila dihirup, kedua gas yang termasuk kategori gas beracun ini dapat menyebabkan gangguan pernapasan, pening, lelah, bronchitis bahkan kematian. <\/p>\n<p>Mengingat bahaya tersebut, alat dengan tenaga baterai (portable) ini diharapkan dapat mengamati keadan gas sekitar lereng gunung sehingga warga disana dapat dievakuasi tepat waktu.&nbsp; Adalah Pupawa Nandra Adika, mahasiswa yang menciptakan alat pendeteksi gas beracun dengan nama Togator. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;LCD (Lyquid Crystal Display) dipilih sebagai media penampil informasi . Nilai yang ditampilkan LCD dapat dikontrol melalui komputer dalam bentuk interface LabVIEW,&quot; ujar Pupawa. Alat ini dihubungkan dengan media komunikasi wireless ke pos pemantauan. Media komunikasi ini mampu menampilkan kadar-kadar gas secara langsung (real time).&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Pupawa mengaku bahwa ide ini berasal dari rekan setimnya Novardan Tio. Ia dibantu tiga orang lainya, Nur Fauziah, Imanda Arifiasari dan Dickry Junior Triandy. Melalui Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa (PKM), Pupawa dan teman-temannya berhasil membawa penilitian ini didanai oleh Kementrian Riset dan Teknologi (Kemristekdikti). <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kami sempat merasa kesulitan dalam menguji alat ini. Surabaya bukan lereng gunung.&nbsp; Tapi akhirnya, kami mampu menyelesaikan alat ini juga,&quot; ucapnya sambil bersyukur.&nbsp; Ia dan timnya berharap agar Togator ini dapat dipantenkan dan menggondol emas dalam Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (PIMNAS) nanti.
