Tidak terbatas risetnya Perguruan Tinggi (PT) besar seperti ITB, UGM, UI, atau ITS saja. Tetapi juga semua PT, khususnya PT di Indonesia timur. &quot;Tidak sekadar riset saja, kita ingin pula meng-<em>upgrade<\/em> sumber daya alam dan manusia di sana,&quot; ujar Abdul.<\/p>\n<p>Dijelaskan Abdul, tata cara pengajuan dan penggunaan anggaran untuk penelitian yang dianut LPDP berbeda dengan penggunaan dana Anggaran Pendapatan dan Belanja Negara (APBN). Pengajuan dan penggunaan dana LPDP untuk kepentingan riset bisa lebih fleksibel. &quot;Sehingga tidak bergantung pada tahun anggaran namun tetap saja tidak boleh dihabiskan,&quot; ungkapnya kepada awak media.<\/p>\n<p>Kesiapan LPDP untuk dapat membantu pendanaan riset EPI-UNET ini diyakini sebagai terobosan baru dalam hal pembiayaan riset. Karena jika patokannya pada tahun anggaran sebagaimana pada pertanggungjawaban penggunaan dana APBN, maka riset tidak akan jalan dan berkembang sebagaimana mestinya.<\/p>\n<p>Abdul sangat yakin EPI-UNET yang berada dalam koordinasi ITS akan mampu mengajukan penelitian-penelitian yang tidak hanya unggul tetapi juga dapat bermanfaat dan bisa digunakan bagi masyarakat. Penelitian yang tidak hanya menghasilkan publikasi atau jurnal ilmiah, tapi juga bisa diproduksi untuk kepentingan masyarakat. Sehingga, penelitian tersebut mampu bermuara pada hilirisasi riset dan masuk dapur industri Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Oleh karenanya, Abdul mengimbau semua pihak, khususnya PT Timur untuk melakukan pendekatan dengan berbagai skema pendanaan riset. Kesempatan besar yang diberikan oleh LPDP ini berfokus untuk mengembangkan potensi wilayah timur Indonesia yang jauh tertinggal dibandingkan wilayah barat.<\/p>\n<p>Proposal riset yang disetujui, tambah Abdul, tidak hanya dari institusi secara mandiri saja, tetapi juga kolaborasi. &quot;Dengan pengalaman ITS yang luar biasa dalam hal riset, kesempatan universitas Indonesia timur untuk ambil bagian dalam bidang riset, terbuka lebar dengan cara kolaborasi,&quot; tegasnya yakin.
