Acara tersebut diadakan guna merefleksikan apa saja yang telah ditorehkan dan dihasilkan selama waktu tersebut. "Kita mengadakan acara ini untuk melakukan evaluasi pada aspek tertentu. Kegiatan ini pun mendatangkan para alumni untuk meminta masukan bagi lab perkim kedepannya," ungkap Ir Muhammad Faqih MSA PhD, ketua Lab Perkim.<\/p><\/div>\n

Dalam kiprahnya di ITS, pada tahun 2007 laboratorium Perkim termasuk dalam empat besar terbaik yang bersanding dengan laboratorium energi, kelautan, dan Informasi Teknologi. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Banyak hal yang dilakukan untuk meraih predikat semacam itu. Laboratorium Perkim sendiri memiliki eksistensi yang bagus pada bidangnya. Contohnya dalam acara United Nation Habitat, laboratorium itu tidak pernah absen dalam mengikuti acara tersebut. <\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Tak hanya evaluasi, acara ini pun memaparkan beberapa hal mengenai peran penting laboratorium Perkim. Diantaranya dalam riset mengenai perbaikan kampung, pembangunan rumah susun, dan banyaknya Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) yang diundang untuk menghadiri konferensi di tingkat internasional. <\/div>\n

"Dulu rumah susun tidak banyak diminati. Namun setelah kami ikut campur dalam memberikan konsep mengenai topik tersebut, peminatnya menjadi bertambah banyak. Contohnya di daerah Surabaya yakni Dupak dan Sombo," jelas Faqih.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Dosen Arsitektur itu pun menambahkan bahwa masalah permukiman adalah masalah yang mendunia sehingga perlu penelitian yang lebih mendalam. "Sampai saat ini pun masih banyak orang yang menghuni rumah kumuh. Seperti dijelaskan pada kegiatan UN Habitat lalu, seharusnya kita dapat merumahkan seluruh penduduk kota tanpa terkecuali," tuturnya.<\/div>\n

Kedepannya Faqih berharap agar seluruh SDM dapat menempuh gelar S3 guna melancarkan pembelajaran dan penelitian yang akan dijalani. "Selain itu semoga laboratorium perkim ini memiliki Lab Base Education yang sebenarnya sehingga dapat lebih optimal dalam melakukan studi," pungkasnya.
