Tujuan utama program ini adalah untuk meningkatkan penelitian ITS berkaitan dengan logistik, pelabuhan, dan pelayaran.<\/p>\n<p>Project Director kerjasama Dr Ing Setyo Nugroho mengibaratkan, jurusan yang sering disebut Seatrans ini sebagai seorang bayi yang baru lahir. Program dari NUFFIC ini sangat membantu perkembangan sang bayi. &quot;Bayi ini membutuhkan banyak suplemen agar dapat segera berlari, bahkan kalau bisa segera melompat,&quot; ujarnya beranalogi.<\/p>\n<p>Jurusan Seatrans sendiri baru berdiri lima tahun yang lalu, dan setahun berikutnya langsung mendapatkan hibah dari NUFFIC agar dapat memperbaiki logistik transportasi laut di Indonesia. Selama empat tahun bekerja sama, jurusan Seatrans dapat membuat logistik pala dari Ambon ke Rotterdam, menggelar beberapa <em>workshop<\/em> internasional untuk mahasiswa<em> undergraduate<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Hasil yang didapat dari program ini ada sepuluh aspek, yaitu <em>professional network<\/em>, <em>study programmes<\/em>, <em>research programmes<\/em>, <em>library and laboratory<\/em>. Kemudian juga ada <em>income generating unit<\/em>, <em>organizational structure<\/em>, <em>learning organization<\/em>, <em>leadership and governance<\/em>, <em>teaching and research capacity<\/em>, dan yang terakhir adalah <em>vision, strategy, and roadmap<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Setyo mengatakan, selama proyek berjalan Jurusan Seatrans bersama Politeknik Elektronika Negeri Surabaya (PENS) mampu membuat sebuah <em>masterpiece<\/em>, yaitu sebuah simulasi pelabuhan yang sangat canggih. &quot;Pelabuhan ini nantinya bisa dioperasikan hanya dengan satu orang,&quot; ucapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, Setyo juga menerangkan dalam proyek ini sering mengunjungi beberapa perusahaan manufaktur dan logistik di Indonesia untuk mengetahui sejauh apa perkembangannya di Indonesia. &quot;Kemudian banyak sekali diskusi selama empat tahun ini. Diskusinya juga dikemas dalam bentuk yang menarik dengan peragaan dan permainan,&quot; tambahnya.<\/p>\n<p>Acara Handing Over Ceremony ini diadakan di gedung Rektorat. Acara ini dihadiri oleh para petinggi institut, kepala jurusan Seatrans, pihak industri yang bermitra dengan ITS, dan beberapa pihak pemerintah. Rencananya, kontrak program ini akan dibicarakan lagi agar dapat dilaksanakan kembali.
