Sayangnya proses yang sudah diterapkan di pengolah limbah seluruh dunia ini justru mendatangkan permasalahan baru, yakni lahirnya gas pencemar. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Gas pencemar ini pun menjadi salah satu sumber perubahan iklim dunia. Bentuk yang dikenal awam mengenai gas pencemar ini diantaranya adalaha karbon dioksida yang merupakan sumber utama efek rumah kaca. &quot;Karbondioksida muncul karena tingginya konsumsi energi yang berlebihan dalam mengolah karbon, nitrogen dan fosfor yang terkandung dalam limbah,&quot; terang Raul.<\/p>\n<p>Di sisi lain, pengolahan limbah di negara tropis justru menggunakan sistem digesti anaerobik yang membutuhkan tambahan nitrogen. Sehingga meningkatkan biaya pengolahan serta hasil pengolahan yang kurang maksimal.<\/p>\n<p>Inovasi penggabungan antara sistem lumpur aktif dan digesti anaerobik mampu memaksimalkan kebutuhan nitrogen untuk pengolahan dan produksi energi dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Hal ini mengakibatkan produksi karbon dioksida dalam pengolahan limbah menjadi minimal tanpa harus mengkhawatirkan nutrien limbah dalam memaksimalkan hasil pengolahan.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Caranya dengan memanfaatkan simbiosis alga dan bakteri di dalam reaktor cahaya. Hal tersebut dillakukan untuk mendukung pengolahan limbah yang murah dan berkelanjutan berdasarkan prinsip radiasi matahari,&quot; bebernya lebih lanjut.<\/p>\n<p>Raul menambahkan langkah tersebut akan memicu oksigenasi melalui fotosintesis, asimilasi nutrisi dan mampu menghilangkan patogen secara efektif. Sehingga tercipta kombinasi pengolahan yang apik dan mampu mengolah gas secara maksimal yang akan berimbas pada produksi biogas yang lebih banyak.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Bioteknologi berbasis lingkungan ini sudah terbukti potensial dan terpercaya melalui penerapannya selama sepuluh tahun terakhir.
