Ia adalah Atria Pradityana ST MT, mahasiswi S3 sekaligus dosen D3 Teknik Mesin ITS. Berkat disertasinya yang unik, namanya terbubuhi dengan gelar doktor. Selain itu, disertasinya juga mengawali sebuah riset baru abad ini.<\/p>\n

Dalam risetnya, ia menemukan material penting pembuatan migas yang mampu bertahan lebih lama dari seharusnya. Material tersebut adalah sarang semut yang dapat dimanfaatkan menjadi inhibitor korosi organik. "Biasanya perusahaan migas menggunakan inhibitor kimia dengan karakteristik anorganik," jelasnya.<\/div>\n

Menurutnya, penelitian yang dilakukannya ini masih skala laboratorium sehingga masih dibutuhkan riset lanjutan untuk sampai di tangan industri. "Satu kali penelitian doktor lagi, penemuan ini bisa diproduksi secara massal," ujarnya bersemangat. Ia menegaskan, riset yang dimaksud haruslah disertasi karena penelitian untuk gelar doktor harus fokus dan mendalam.<\/div>\n

Sementara itu, Prof Dr Ir Abdullah Shahab MSc, sebagai promotor mengaku bangga meluluskan seorang doktor dengan penelitian baru dan unik. Dengan terheran-heran, keluar satu pertanyaan dari bibirnya, yaitu tentang bagaimana mendapatkan ide yang unik ini. <\/p>\n

"Kemungkinannya di sini sangat luas, bisa sarang tawon atau sarang laba-laba, tapi kenapa memilih sarang semut?" timpalnya bergurau.<\/p><\/div>\n

Atria mengatakan, idenya ini ditemukan ketika membaca sebuah jurnal yang mendeskripsikan kandungan sarang semut. Dari situ, idenya radikalnya muncul untuk mengancam inhibitor anorganik ditarik dari industri migas. "Setelah saya teliti, ternyata banyak sekali inhibitor organik," ujar ibu dua anak ini.
