Listrik yang dihasilkan tersebut dapat digunakan untuk men-<em>charge <\/em>berbagai <em>gadget<\/em> seperti Handphone, Music Player 3 (MP3), Tab, dan perlatan elektronik lainnya. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Proses <em>charging<\/em> ini tentu dengan sumber energi listrik dari udara bebas, gratis, dan terbarukan. &quot;Dan kerapatan sinyalnya pun setiap bulan semakin bertambah,&quot; imbuh Niki<\/p>\n<p>Antena merupakan garda terdepan dalam menangkap sinyal frekuensi radio, karenanya antena menjadi sangat penting pada Smager. &quot;Jika dapat dibuat antena dengan sensitivitas dan efisiensi tinggi, listrik gratis bukan lagi impian,&quot; tegas Niki.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div>Selama lima bulan, Niki dan tim melakukan penelitian ini dengan metode algoritma genetika. Metode ini terinspirasi dari proses berkembang biak mahluk hidup. Di mana individu yang terkuat akan bertahan.<\/p>\n<p>Mirip dengan mekanisme tersebut, individu antena yang terdiri dari piksel-piksel antena yang dibangkitkan secara acak. Kemudian dikawinkan dengan individu lain (<em>cross over<\/em>) lalu diatur nilai mutasi dari kromosomnya.<\/div>\n<div>Dengan menggunakan aplikasi Matlab, proses <em>cross over <\/em>dan mutasi dapat menghasilkan suatu generasi. Hal ini akan terus diulang secara acak hingga mendapatkan generasi yang sesuai dengan kriteria.<\/div>\n<div>Untuk menambah kebaharuan dari penelitian, Niki dan tim mengimplementasikan metamaterial pada antena yang difabrikasi. Metamaterial adalah rekayasa pada geometri antena dengan penambahan bentuk khusus pada permukaan antena. &quot;Sehingga diperoleh antena dengan performa unggul,&quot; jelas Niki.<\/div>\n<div>Hal ini terjadi karena metamaterial dapat meningkatkan parameter <em>return loss<\/em> dan VSWR, karena indeks bias yang bernilai negatif.&nbsp;VSWR adalah perbandingan antara tegangan maksimum dan minimum pada suatu gelombang berdiri akibat adanya pantulan gelombang yang disebabkan tidak<em> matching-<\/em>nya impedansi input antena dengan saluran <em>feeder<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Tak dapat dipungkiri di masa depan <em>wireless<\/em> akan semakin mendunia. <em>Wireless<\/em> membutuhkan antena sebagai komponen utamanya. &quot;Jadi meneliti antena berarti meneliti teknologi masa depan,&quot; pungkas Niki pada ITS Online. Ia &nbsp;berharap penelitiannya dapat menginspirasi peneliti lain. Dalam hal ini untuk meneliti sumber energi terbarukan, termasuk frekuensi radio.<\/div>\n<p>Peneitian ini merupakan pengembangan SMAGER hadir dalam PKM-PE yang telah terdanai tahun ini. Bersama tim, ia meneleti PKM yang berjudul&nbsp;<em>Fabrikasi Multi-Band Resonant Patch Antenna Yang Dioptimasi Menggunakan Algoritma Genetika Berbasis Metamaterial Untuk Aplikasi Pada Pemanen Listrik Frekuensi Radio. &nbsp;<\/em>Anggota tim tersebut antara lain, Nanda Redha A, Hoppy Adi P, Rizki Fadilla, dan Liandra Kusuma.
