Ia membawa gagasan mengenai energi terbarukan, yaitu memanen listrik dari tanaman padi menggunakan konsep <em>plant-microbial fuel cell <\/em>(PMFC).<\/p>\n<p>Menurut Misbah, banyak daerah-daerah terpencil di Indonesia yang belum teraliri listrik. Namun di sisi lain hampir di setiap daerah terpencil tersebut memiliki lahan pertanian padi yang luas. &#8221;Apabila kita bisa menerapkan PMFC ke lahan pertanian padi, kita tidak perlu berkompetisi dengan komoditas pangan untuk mendapatkan energi,&quot; jelas mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi ini.<\/p>\n<p>Konferensi internasional ini digelar secara langsung oleh United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), lembaga di bawah PBB yang menangani permasalahan lingkungan. UNEP bekerjasama dengan Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD) di Uniersitas Tongji. &quot;Ini lah yang menjadi daya tarik terbesar saya mengikuti acara ini,&quot; ujarnya.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bertempat di Universitas Tongji, tahun ini ISCES kembali mengupas tuntas permasalahan lingkungan dalam skala global. Mulai dari perubahan iklim, energi baru dan terbarukan, produksi dan konsumsi berkelanjutan, gaya hidup hijau, ekologi perkotaan, hingga membahas mengenai kota hijau.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya mempresentasikan berbagai gagasan peserta dari seluruh dunia, ISCES juga mengajak pesertanya berkeliling Shanghai untuk menyaksikan langsung perkembangan kota hijau yang tengah digeluti oleh kota paling maju di negara berpenduduk terpadat di dunia ini.<\/p>\n<p>Sebut saja Shanghai Dushi Green Engineering Co Ltd, Chongming Planning Exhibition Center, Xisha National Wetland Park, hingga Lujiazui CBD Central Green Park. Tak berhenti di situ, mereka bahkan diajak menyaksikan langsung mobil-mobil besutan BMW yang berbahan bakar ramah lingkungan di BMW New Energy Vehicle Brand Experience Center.<\/p>\n<p>Meskipun diakui Misbah, belajar hanyalah bagian kecil dari pengalaman konferensinya, ia banyak mendapatkan inspirasi yang mendorongnya untuk punya andil besar dalam kegiatan berbasis lingkungan. &quot;Aksi lingkungan tidak hanya terjun langsung ke masyarakat, kita juga bisa turut ambil bagian melalui penelitian,&quot; ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya itu, menurut mahasiswa angkatan 2012 ini, menerapkan gaya hidup hijau atau ramah lingkungan juga menjadi salah satu cara memberikan pengaruh baik terhadap lingkungan. &quot;Saya setiap ke kampus selalu menggunakan sepeda angin <em>lho<\/em>, kamu kapan?&quot; tutupnya berseloroh.
