Kami mengambil bahannya dari Malang,&quot; terang Wisnu, ketua tim SP XII.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Selain itu, biaya yang dikeluarkan untuk bahan bakar batu kapur terbilang murah. &quot;Murahnya karena tidak perlu dicampurkan dengan bahan kimia lainnya, hanya direaksikan dengan air saja,&quot; ujar Wisnu. Penggunaan batu kapur tersebut menjadi nilai tambah tersendiri bagi tim dan menjadi satu-satunya tim yang memanfaatkan bahan bakar alami.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Tidak ada pembaharuan dalam sistem <em>stopping<\/em> seperti yang dilakukan oleh tim SP XI. Namun, tim menjelaskan bahwa <em>device<\/em> untuk sistem <em>stopping<\/em> ada. &quot;Sistemnya tidak se-kompleks pada prototipe di SP XI. Cara kerja sistem <em>stopping<\/em> tersebut yaitu memberhentikan mobil pada tegangan 0,7 volt,&quot; tutur Wisnu.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mengenai prototype mobil yang digunakan oleh tim SP XII merupakan mobil pengembangan dari mobil SP VII dengan beberapa modifikasi. Diantaranya mengenai sistem TEC (<em>Thermal Electric Cooler<\/em>) dan TEG (<em>Thermo Electric Generator<\/em>). &quot;Keduanya sama-sama menghasilkan daya listrik dari perbedaan suhu,&quot; terang Wisnu.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Bedanya, daya listrik yang dihasilkan TEG benar-benar berasal dari perbedaan suhu. Berbeda dengan prototipe mobil SP VII yang menggunakan sistem TEC, yaitu menghasilkan panas dan dingin terlebih dahulu untuk mendapatkan perbedaan suhu sehingga terciptalah daya listrik. &quot;Prototipe mobil SP XII menggunakan sistem TEG,&quot; tutur Wisnu.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meski begitu, diakui oleh tim bahwa prototipe mobil SP XII memiliki banyak sekali <em>error<\/em> selama kompetisi berlangsung. &quot;Saat<em> race<\/em>, mobil hanya melaju hingga 8,26 meter dengan <em>error<\/em> sebanyak 2,74,&quot; ujar mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Kimia 2013 tersebut. Ketika ditanya alasannya, tim hanya memiliki kemungkinan jawaban untuk babak pertama saja.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>&quot;Pada babak pertama, kemungkinan besar karna batu kapur telah bereaksi dengan udara. Kami urutan ke-11, sedangkan pada urutan ke-9, bahan sudah dikeluarkan dari tempatnya untuk ditimbang. Saat itulah batu kapur terpapar udara,&quot; ujar Wisnu. Terpaparnya udara tersebut membuat batu kapur terlapisi kandungan air, sehingga pada saat direaksikan, reaktan harus menembus lapisan air dahulu sebelum bereaksi.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mengenai babak kedua, tim masih belum memastikan apa penyebabnya. Meski begitu, tim telah rajin mengambil data sejak lima bulan sebelum kompetisi guna dihasilkan spek-spek khusus yang dapat digunakan sebagai acuan. &quot;Saat lomba, ada saja faktor tertentu yang menyebabkan mobil kami menghadapi banyak kendala,&quot; tutur Wisnu.
