Bertempat di Gedung NASDEC,  tercatat 14 peserta dari berbagai institusi belahan dunia turut hadir untuk menyampaikan materinya sesuai dengan tema kali ini, yaitu Development in Ship Design and Construction. Acara yang diadakan setiap dua tahunan tersebut telah memasuki kali ke empat, tahun ini merupakan yang kedua kalinya ITS sebagai tuan rumah setelah ICSOT 2010 lalu.<\/p>\n

Salah satu peserta, Sunaryo menyampaikan materinya dengan judul Improving The Class Of Indonesia\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Tradisional Merchant Fleet by Modernizing Their Structural Design Materials and Buliding Procedurs. Dalam paparannya, ia mengungkapkan bahwa design kapal dapat di buat dari lapisan bamboo ataupun lapisan kayu, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ternyata lapisan kayu sangatlah kuat dan juga baik untuk lingkungan.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Ujar peserta asal Universitas Indonesia tersebut.<\/div>\n

Sementara itu,  Muhammad Sholikhan selaku dosen Teknik Perkapalan menyebutkan bahwa dengan diadakannya seminar ini, para mahasiswa diharapkan dapat memanfaatkan momen yang ada, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 Ajang ini merupakan kesempatan untuk dapat menambah wawasan dan menambah relasi,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d ungkap Solikhan. Seperti yang diketahui, bahwa acara tersebut juga banyak di hadiri oleh alumni dan berbagai perusahaan di bidang maritim.<\/div>\n

Selain itu, ICSOT 2015 yang berlangsung selama dua hari berturut-turut tersebut juga dihadiri oleh chief executive RINA Mr Trevor Blakeley, yang juga bertindak sebagai moderator ,serta Ketua LPPM Adi Supriyanto, Prof Dr Ir MT yang hadir untuk membuka acara. Uniknya, penyelenggaraan ICSOT ini juga merupakan hari ulang tahun ke-10 Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA-Indonesia), dan sekaligus perayaan 55 tahun ITS.
