Persis seperti yang diutarakan Presiden Joko Widodo dalam<em> 2015 Paris Climate Conference (COP21) <\/em>di Paris, Perancis November lalu.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk itu, Indonesia pun telah berkomitmen untuk menurunkan emisi sebesar 29 persen di bawah <em>business as usual<\/em> pada tahun 2030 mendatang. Tak ingin ketinggalan, ITS pun turut mengambil berbagai langkah guna menghadapi perubahan iklim global.<\/p>\n<p>Dikatakan Dr Amien Widodo MS, Ketua Pusat Studi Kebumian, Bencana, dan Perubahan Iklim (PSKBPI) ITS, ia bersama timnya saat ini sedang melakukan penelitian. Hal ini dilakukan guna mengidentifikasi kawasan pantai di Surabaya yang rawan banjir rob (banjir air laut, red).<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kira-kira kalau air laut naik, diidentifikasi bagian mana saja yang akan rusak parah,&quot; jelasnya singkat. Menurutnya, meningkatnya level air laut juga menyebabkan kerusakan air tanah.<\/p>\n<p>Dengan begitu, lanjutnya, setidaknya ada tindakan preventif yang bisa dilakukan masyarakat dalam menghadapi dampak perubahan iklim tersebut. &quot;Masyarakat Kenjeran Surabaya misalnya. Paling tidak mereka harus tahu&nbsp;bagaimana tanda-tanda banjir rob akan datang,&quot; jelas Amien.<\/p>\n<p>Minimal, mereka bisa menyesuaikan tata letak rumah, gaya hidup, dan aktivitas dengan daerah pantai yang seharusnya. &quot;Kalau tidak ada tindakan, takutnya akan membesar kalau-kalau ada lagi,&quot; imbuhnya.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, pihak ITS ternyata juga meneliti tingkat kepahaman warga di Kabupaten Probolinggo tentang perubahan iklim. Mereka diajarkan menghitung karbon, penggunaan energi yang efisien dan lain sebagainya. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Kita sedang berusaha mewujudkan Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik dengan melakukan pencerdasan mengenai suatu isu,&quot; papar dosen Teknik Geofisika ini.&nbsp;Terkait perubahan iklim, mahasiswa minimal harus tahu cara menghitung karbon, mengukur beban listrik, dan lain-lain.<\/p>\n<p>Namun untuk periode sekarang, jelas Amien, belum ada dan sedang dalam tahap perencanaan. KKN Tematik ini, tambahnya, sebenarnya terdapat slot yang disediakan pemerintah, namun sayangnya berbayar. <\/p>\n<p>&quot;Karenanya kita harus menggagas sendiri, dan saya lihat&nbsp;<em>Pak Rektor <\/em>tertarik dengan KKN Tematik ini. Lagi-lagi karena sifatnya global, tidak memandang jauh dekat, sama saja, yang terpenting dampaknya,&quot; pungkasnya kepada ITS Online.
