EPW yang digagas sejak tahun 2009 ini memiliki banyak inovasi di tahun 2015. Diantaranya adalah bazar makanan, <em>stand <\/em>mahasiswa asing untuk memperkenalkan budaya dan pendidikan di luar negeri, laboratorium <em>challenge show off <\/em>yang menampilkan proyek-proyek dari seluruh laboratorium JTF, EPW <em>Overtake<\/em> dan lain sebagainya.<\/p>\n<p>Melebihi ekspektasi, Aloysius Afriandi Sihombing, ketua panitia acara mengaku sangat bangga dengan partisipan yang semakin meningkat dari tahun ke tahun . &quot;Kita targetkan 6 ribu, ternyata dari awal registrasi berbagai perlombaan hingga malam puncak ini, tercatat lebih dari 6500 partisipan keseluruhan,&quot; ungkapnya.<\/p>\n<p>Kegiatan pertama yang diadakan adalah National Optics Seminar (NOS). Ia mengatakan, selain memberikan wawasan tentang optik, kegiatan ini juga dilakukan guna menyambut International Year of Light (IYL) yang dideklarasikan oleh UNESCO.<\/p>\n<p>Kegiatan kedua yakni Engineering Physics Challenge (EPC). Kegiatan ini merupakan olimpiade fisika terapan yang diseleksi dari 18 rayon di Indonesia. Tahun ini, EPC diikuti oleh 1982 tim se-Indonesia yang kemudian disaring dalam perempat final menjadi 130 tim. Dan terakhir diseleksi lagi di babak semi final dan final. &quot;Alhasil terdapat lima juara, diantaranya juara satu diraih oleh SMA Negeri 2 Jombang, juara dua diraih oleh SMA Negeri 1 Rembang, juara tiga oleh SMA Negeri 1 Tabanan, juara empat oleh SMA Negeri Sooko Mojokerto dan juara lima oleh SMA MTA Surakarta,&quot; jelas ketua panitia, mahasiswa JTF 2013 ini.<\/p>\n<p>Kompetisi lainnya adalah Smart Innovation of Writing (Snow) yang bertemakan <em>Green Building<\/em> yang berfokus kepada manajemen energi. Sekaligus memperkenalkan bidang keilmuan teknik fisika, kompetisi yang diikuti oleh 451 siswa dan mahasiswa. kompetisi ini dimenangkan oleh tim dari ITS, disusul oleh&nbsp; Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) di posisi kedua, dan di posisi ketiga diraih oleh Institut Teknologi Bandung. Tak hanya itu, untuk juara <em>Best Mock-Up <\/em>diraih oleh UGM pula.<\/p>\n<p>Sedangkan untuk kategori siswa juara satu diraih oleh SMA Negeri 10 Malang, disusul oleh SMAK Frateran Surabaya sebagai juara 3 dan juara tiga diraih oleh MA Negeri 2 Ponorogo. Sementara gelar <em>Best Mock-Up<\/em> diraih oleh SMAK Frateran Surabaya.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesian Line Tracer Competition (ILTC) menjadi kompetisi selanjutnya. ILTC merupakan kompetisi robot analog dan mikro yang diikuti oleh 100 tim. Masing-masing kategori berhasil menyaring tiga juara. Untuk lomba robot analog, juara satu diraih oleh SMK Negeri 8 Malang, juara dua oleh SMA Negeri 1 Pamekasan, juara tiga oleh SMA Negeri 1 Kebomas.<\/p>\n<p>Sementara juara Best Design diraih oleh SMA Islam Annidhomah. Sedangkan, untuk kategori robot mikro juara satu diraih oleh SMA Negeri 1 Gresik, juara dua diraih oleh SMA Negeri 2 Madiun, juara tiga diraih oleh SMK Negeri 8 Malang, dan juara Best Design oleh SMA Negeri 1 Malang.<\/p>\n<p>Tak cukup di situ, sebuah lomba fotografi atau yang dikenal dengan kompetisi EPW Snapshot juga mampu menuai antusiasme peserta. Lomba yang bertemakan <em>Fenomena Fisika<\/em> ini yang diikuti oleh 43 peserta. Adapun yang keluar sebagai juara pertama adalah mahasiswa ITS dengan judul Dunia Terbalik. Sementara di posisi kedia ditempati oleh Universitas Kristen Petra dengan judul Daily Archimedes&#8217;s, dan juara tiga dari SMA Negeri 13 Jakarta yang berjudul Cahaya. <\/p>\n<p>Acara puncak EPW ditutup oleh penampilan bintang tamu, Barry Likumahuwa Project. Aloysius pun berharap manfaat yang didapatkan se-emas dengan usia JTF saat ini. &quot;Harapan saya EPW di tahun emas JTF ini bisa tersampai tujuannya dan dan memberi manfaat yang lebih luas dari tahun sebelumnya,&quot; ucapnya mengakhiri wawancara.
