Pengembangan isolator panas dengan material struktur nanoporous dapat meningkatkan <em>surface area <\/em>dan menurunkan nilai konduktivitas termal dan meningkatkan performa material sebagai bahan isolator. &quot;Isolator panas dengan material struktur nanoporus ini mudah pembuatannya, murah, dan ramah lingkungan untuk mencegah adanya transfer panas,&quot; papar Dita Agustina Ketua PKM-P.<\/p>\n<p>Wanita yang akrab di sapa dengan Dita ini mengungkapkan,penelitian ini mempelajari kondisi operasi deposisi elektroforesis (EPD) terhadap pembentukan partikel silica dan mengevaluasi karakteristiknya sebagai isolator panas. Dalam materialnya, Dita menggunkan natrium silikat <em>(water glass)<\/em> sebagai bahan alternatif pengganti silika aerogel. &quot; Hal ini&nbsp; dikarenakan harganya lebih murah, mudah dalam pembuatannya, dan ramah lingkungan,&quot; paparnya.<\/p>\n<p>Dita menjelaskan, metode deposisi elektroforesis (EPD) dipilih sebagai pengganti metode sol-gel karena prosesnya lebih cepat dan porositas yang diinginkan lebih mudah dikontrol. Natrium silikat dibuat menjadi<em> silisic acid <\/em>melalui proses pertukaran ion menggunakan resin kation, kemudian netralisasi sampel dengan KOH 1% sehingga terbentuk sol silika. <\/p>\n<p>Selanjutnya, sol silika diuapkan airnya, kemudian ditambahkan pelarut organik sebanyak volume air teruapkan, sebelum tahap EPD. Sampel yang didapatkan dari tahap EPD selanjutnya dikeringkan sebelum dilakukan uji karakterisasi produk. Luas permukaan partikel silika diketahui menggunakan metode BET (<em>Branauer, Emmet and Teller<\/em>), berkisar antara 198,256-342,461 m2\/g.<\/p>\n<p>Sedangkan volume pori didapatkan melalui metode BJH (<em>Barret-Joyner-Halenda)<\/em><br \/>berkisar antara 0,566-1,438 cm3\/g. Pengujian partikel silika sebagai bahan isolator<br \/>panas dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai konduktivitas panas silika, dan didapatkan<br \/>nilai konduktivitas panas berkisar antara 4,896 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 14,318 W\/m.K.<\/p>\n<p>Dita menambahkan Pembuatan isolator panas dengan material silica ini&nbsp; tidak hanya digunakan dalam AC saja, tetapi bisa digunakan oleh alat penghasil panas atau dingin lainnya.&quot; Misalnya oven, setrika ,dll,&quot; ujarnya. Dengan penelitian berjudul Inovasi Pembuatan Isolator Panas Silika Menggunakan Metode Deposisi Elektroforesis Untuk Rumah Hemat Energi harapannya&nbsp; dapat menciptakan sebuah produk yang memiliki nilai tambah dan bernilai ekonomis. Selain itu&nbsp; ia berharap semoga penelitian ini dapat dilanjutkan hingga dapat diaaplikasikan dalam kehidupan masyarakat.
