”Saya ingin membuat yang memang aplikatif untuk masyarakat,” ujar mahasiswa yang mengambil fokus bidang elektro biomedis tersebut. Dibawah bimbingan langsung Dr Tri Arief Sardjono ST MT dan Pujiono ST MT, Dito memilih untuk mengembangkan alat Elektro Laring ini sebagai TA-nya.<\/p>\n

”Alat elektronik pengganti pita suara ini sebelumnya sudah pernah menjadi bahasan tugas akhir di lulusan 2010 dan 2012,” jelasnya. Namun, ada beberapa aspek yang belum maksimal sehingga Dito ingin menyempurnakannya. Tidak hanya itu, alat Elektro Laring yang telah dikembangkan dan diimpor saat ini pun harganya lebih mahal. Sehingga, hal ini menjadi alasan kuat baginya untuk mengembangkan Elektro Laring.<\/p>\n

”Saat ini, peralatan teknik biomedik di Indonesia masih sangat kurang, banyak yang masih harus impor. Ini sangat memprihatinkan,” ujar sosok yang pernah menjabat sebagai Sekretaris Jenderal Internal BEM ITS 2011\/2012 tersebut. Hal itulah yang menjadi alasannya memilih fokus terhadap bidang biomedik.<\/p>\n

Dalam menyelesaikan tugas akhirnya, tidak sedikit hambatan yang Dito alami. Ia mengakui, kesulitan utamanya adalah menggabungkan berbagai disiplin ilmu. Tidak jarang, pria sederhana ini harus pulang pergi menemui kawannya yang berkuliah di jurusan Kedokteran. Hanya sekedar untuk memahami bagaimana fungsi laring manusia. Selain itu, keterlambatan pengiriman alat dari Singapura juga menjadi hambatannya dalam penyelesaian tugas akhir.<\/div>\n

Di Indonesia sendiri, kebanyakan para penyandang tunalaring adalah kaum menengah kebawah. Sedangkan untuk membeli alat semacam Elektro Laring tersebut, diperlukan biaya yang berkisar dari sembilan juta rupiah hingga 12 juta. Pun jika mereka harus melakukan terapi, akan memakan waktu yang sangat lama untuk akhirnya bisa bicara dengan normal.<\/div>\n

Meski sudah memakan waktu yang cukup lama untuk membuat Elektro Laring, Dito mengatakan bahwa alat buatannya itu masih butuh penyempurnaan. ”Alat ini masih perlu dikembangkan dari sisi energi, mekanik, dan efektifitas rangkaiannya,” ujar pria yang bermimpi melanjutkan studi di Belanda tersebut. Dengan beribu kelegaan, akhirnya ia lulus dalam wisuda 109, Sabtu (15\/3). Pasalnya, Dito, sapaan akrabnya, memilih untuk lulus lebih lama demi mengembangkan sebuah alat kesehatan bernama Elektro Laring.
