Setelah empat hari berjuang di sirkuit Kenjeran dalam kompetisi Indonesian Energy Marathon Challenge<\/em> (IEMC) 2013, ITS layak bersuka cita karena telah berhasil mengalahkan 53 tim dari 30 perguruan tinggi dari seluruh Indonesia. Empat tim yang diusung ITS berhasil menyabet berbagai kategori sebagai juara terbaik dalam ketegori prototype<\/em> maupun urban<\/em>.<\/p>\n

IEMC 2 tahun ini memang membagi ketegori juara menjadi prototype<\/em> dan urban. Masing masing kategori dibagi lagi menjadi tiga kelas berdasarkan bahan bakarnya yaitu kelas bensin, diesel dan listrik. Dari masing-masing kelas akan diambil dua juara sehingga total penghargaan yang diberikan adalah 12 buah. Di kategori prototype<\/em>, ITS harus rela menyerahkan juara satu pada tim Nakoela Hore<\/em>Universitas Indonesia (UI) di kelas bensin. Sedangkan untuk kelas listrik juara diraih oleh Arjuna Hore<\/em> UI.<\/p>\n

ITS juga harus merelakan juara kedua prototype<\/em> kelas listrik kepada tim Bumi Siliwangi 3 <\/em>dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Meskipun demikian, ITS berhasil menyabet Juara 1 dalam kategori prototype<\/em> kelas diesel dan runner-up dalam kelas bensin.<\/p>\n

Membalas kekalahan pada kategori prototype<\/em>, gelar juara dari ketiga kelas dalam kategori urban berhasil digondol oleh ITS. Diantaranya adalah kelas bensin yang dimenangkan oleh Team 3 ITS, kelas diesel oleh team 2 dan terakhir kategori urban kelas listrik yang dimenangkan tim Nogogeni 2<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Dengan total 5 piala di tangan ITS, euforia pun menyebar di antara barisan suporter tim ITS yang duduk di tribun gedung robotika menyambut kemenagan ITS. Tepuk tangan dan sorak kemenangan berkumandang selama proses penyerahan trofi dan piagam kepada peserta berlangsung. <\/p>\n

"Kami sangat senang keempat tim ITS berhasil meraih piala semua," ujar Rois Rohmana, anggota tim 3 ITS yang berhasil menjuarai kategori urban kelas bensin. Mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Fisika ini mengaku selama kompetsisi berlangsung, tidak banyak kendala yang berarti. Hanya beberapa masalah teknis yang membuat mobil menjadi sedikit labil.<\/p>\n

Namun hal itu dapat diatasi dengan kerjasama dan kekompakan tim. Mahasiswa yang akrab dipanggil Rois ini juga mengungkapkan harapannya agar tahun depan ITS bisa menambah jumlah mobil yang dikompetisikan dan agar tim sapu angin ITS mampu menyapu bersih semua ketegori juara IEMC.
