Siapkah ITS menghadapi otonomi kampus? Konsep apa yang telah disiapkan ITS? Semua pertanyaan tersebut dibahas tuntas dalam diskusi panel yang bertema &#39;Menuju ITS Baru 2010&#39;. Diskusi yang dihadiri seluruh pimpinan di lingkungan ITS, serta mahasiswa dan sivitas akademika lainnya ini, berlangsung di ruang sidang gedung rektorat kampus ITS Sukolilo. Tampak hadir sebagai panelis antara lain Drs. Kresnayana Yahya,MSc., Prof.Ir. Widi A. Praktikto,MSc.,PhD., dan Ir. Sritomo Wignjosoebroto,MSc. <\/p>\n<p>Diskusi yang dikemas sebagai ajang sharing ini, membahas perubahan-perubahan yang perlu dilakukan ITS guna meningkatkan kualitas. Banyak konsep-konsep yang diajukan panelis yang menarik. Prof. Widi A. Praktikto, misalnya, beliau memaparkan tentang kualitas SDM, program yang berkualitas, Quality Assurance System (QAS), penambahan dan perbaikan fasilitas, Strategic Business Unit, dan masih banyak lagi.  Beliau berharap adanya perubahan cara pandang atas ITS dan perlunya reorganisasi untuk menjawab tantangan. <\/p>\n<p>Lebih menarik lagi dengan konsep yang dipaparkan Kresnayana Yahya. Dengan gaya bicara yang khas, beliau memberikan pandangan tentang perubahan yang harus dilakukan ITS, untuk menjawab tantangan global. Menurut beliau selama ini, di ITS masih teaching base, teacher centered, theoritical, school structure, central guidance, top down, dan grades &amp; ranks. Kresnayana mencoba menawarkan konsep yang lebih bersifat learning base, student centered, problem based, society&#39;s vision, school based management, adaptive to the student, dan competence.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam diskusi ini, banyak masukan-masukan dari peserta yang hadir, yang umumnya berorientasi untuk perkembangan ITS di masa depan. Menurut rencana, diskusi semacam ini akan diadakan minimal 3 bulan sekali.
