Rektor ITS, Prof Dr Ir Tri Yogi Yuwono DEA turut hadir. Ia mendukung penuh program tersebut&nbsp; terutama sebagai sarana pendidikan lanjut dosen-dosen muda di ITS.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;ITS punya kebijakan bahwa dosen yang masih relatif muda kami dorong untuk menempuh pendidikan lanjut di luar negeri,&#8221; ujar Tri Yogi. Melalui program ini, dosen ITS diharapkan dapat melanjutkan pendidikan sekaligus mengadaptasi banyak hal yang diperoleh di Jepang untuk dikembangkan di ITS.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih dari itu, kerja sama <em>double degree<\/em> ini juga dipandang Tri Yogi sebagai salah satu upaya yang baik untuk menghidupkan program pasca sarjana ITS. Pasalnya, jika merunut Rencana Strategis (Renstra) ITS untuk menjadi perguruan tinggi riset di tahun 2017, ITS dituntut untuk memiliki komposisi mahasiswa pasca sarjana sebesar 20 persen dari total <em>student body<\/em>. Artinya, ITS harus memiliki sedikitnya 3200 mahasiswa program pasca sarjana.<\/p>\n<p>Tri Yogi mengungkapkan, saat ini ITS hanya memiliki sekitar 1800 mahasiswa pasca sarjana. Namun, ia optimis <em>double degree program<\/em> dapat meningkatkan animo lulusan sarjana untuk melanjutkan ke pendidikan magister dan doktor, selain melalui program <em>fast track<\/em> yang sudah diinisiasi sejak tahun lalu. &#8221;Tahun ini ada sekitar 250<em> fresh graduate<\/em> yang melanjutkan ke pasca sarjana ITS, ini pencapaian yang baik,&#8221; terangnya.<\/p>\n<p><em>Double Degree Program for Doctoral Course<\/em> dengan Kumamoto sendiri rencananya akan memulai penerimaan mahasiswa baru pada April 2014. Namun, pendaftaran sudah dapat dilakukan mulai bulan November hingga Desember tahun ini. Sejumlah tahapan akan dilakukan, mulai dari seleksi dokumen, <em>email interview<\/em>, hingga seleksi <em>english score<\/em>. Program ini mensyaratkan nilai minimal 530 untuk TOEFL, 700 untuk TOEIC, dan 6.0 untuk IELTS.<\/p>\n<p>Selain<em> double degree<\/em> yang diinisiasi oleh Pasca Sarjana ITS, setiap jurusan di ITS kini juga diminta untuk mulai menjajaki <em>joint degree <\/em>dengan perguruan tinggi asing. Tahun ini, ITS menargetkan semua jurusan telah melakukan kerja sama, meski belum sampai tahap penerimaan mahasiswa. &#8221;Hingga saat ini ITS sudah menerima 16 proposal dari semua jurusan untuk mulai menjajaki <em>joint degree<\/em>,&#8221; ungkap Tri Yogi.
