{"id":16346,"date":"2013-05-02T05:27:03","date_gmt":"2013-05-02T05:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/2013\/05\/02\/belajar-energi-alternatif-ke-sgf\/"},"modified":"2013-05-02T05:27:03","modified_gmt":"2013-05-02T05:27:03","slug":"belajar-energi-alternatif-ke-sgf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/news\/belajar-energi-alternatif-ke-sgf\/","title":{"rendered":"Belajar Energi Alternatif ke SGF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SGF merupakan salah satu bentuk<em> corporate social responsibility <\/em>(CSR) dari PT Semen Gresik, yang berbau pelestarian lingkungan dipilih oleh tim Eco Campus ITS untuk dikunjungi. Terlebih lagi, SGF lewat Sekolah Menengah Atas Gresik berhasil meraih penghargaan Adi Wiyata Mandiri 2010, sebuah penghargaan dari pemerintah untuk sekolah yang terbukti peduli dan berbudaya lingkungan, dan juara pertama kontes <em>sustainability<\/em> <em>program<\/em> Toyota Eco Youth 4 pada tahun 2009.<\/p>\n<p>Sementara itu, pihak ITS tak ingin main-main dalam menjalankan porgram ITS Eco Campusnya. Mereka ingin memperoleh informasi tindakan apa saja yang dilakukan untuk melestarikan lingkungan. Hasil kunjungan ini akan dipertimbangkan sebagai masukan untuk peningkatan Eco Campus ITS ke depannya. Pihak ITS pun turut mengajak 35 mahasiswanya yang mempunyai minat yang besar dalam pelestarian lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Dari kunjungan ke SMA Gresik dan Pusat Pengembangan Lingkungan Hidup (PPLH) Semen Gresik Foundation ini, tim ITS Eco Campus diharapkan mendapat inspirasi baru dalam memberikan inovasi di program ITS Eco Campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pelajari Pengolahan Jarak Pagar<\/strong><br \/>Di ruang pengelohan energi alternatif PT. Semen Gresik (Tbk), peserta diajak melihat beberapa jenis mesin yang dipakai untuk pengolahan. Tidak ketinggalan pula, hasil olahan buah jarak pagar seperti minyak lilin, minyak <em>biodiesel<\/em>, dan berbagai bentuk hasil olahan yang telah dikembangkan oleh SGF.<\/p>\n<p>Damarno, salah satu dari tiga pegawai yang melayani, menerangkan kronologis pengolahan membuat minyak <em>biodiesel. <\/em>&#8221;Terlebih dahulu, kami memisahkan cangkang dari kernelnya ( biji buah jarak pagar,red ) dengan mesin olahan,&#8221; terangnya.<\/p>\n<p>Meski yang diperagakan adalah proses pengolahan kernel saja, bukan berarti cangkang dan kulitnya tidak berguna sama sekali. Buktinya, ketika dalam pemrosesan, benda-benda tersebut tidak dibuang begitu saja, tetapi langsung dimasukkan ke dalam karung. Setelah itu, tambah Damarno,&nbsp; akan dikirim ke pabrik untuk dijadikan bahan bakar pembuatan semen bersama dengan batu bara. <\/p>\n<p>&#8221;Saat ini cangkang dan kulit berkontribusi hanya lima persen pembakaran saja,&#8221; ungkap Damarno. Namun, lanjutnya, tidak menutup kemungkinan untuk beberapa tahun ke depan, cangkang dan biji tersebut akan menggantikan batu bara, disebabkan program energi alternatif ini baru berjalan dua tahun dan masih akan terus berlanjut. Selain diolah menjadi <em>biodiese<\/em>l, minyak mentah juga bermanfaat untuk dijadikan bahan bakar pesawat.
