Hal itulah yang melatarbelakangi Himpunan Mahasiswa Geomatika (Himage) menggelar Simposium Nasional Teknik Geomatika, Kamis, (28\/3). Ir Hidayat S, Dekan Fakultas Teknik Sipil dan Perencanaan (FTSP), saat membuka acara, menyampaikan, masih banyak hal yang harus dibenahi terkait rencana pemerintah untuk membuat satu peta sebagai satu-satunya referensi di negeri ini. "Masih banyak hal yang perlu dioptimalkan dari sumber daya manusia yang ada, agar permasalahan geospasial<\/em> bisa cepat terselesaikan," ujarnya.<\/p>\n

Data geospasial<\/em> adalah data tentang lokasi geografis, dimensi atau ukuran, dan tentang karakteristik objek alam yang berada di bawah maupun di atas permukaan bumi. Kita mengenalnya dalam bentuknya yang paling konvensional, yaitu peta. Hal ini tentu sangat identik dengan
\nproses pembangunan bagi masyarakat Indonesia. Permasalahan geospasial<\/em> memang menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang cukup disoroti saat ini.<\/p>\n

Lepasnya beberapa pulau, sengketa tanah antar daerah, serta perebutan sumber daya alam (SDA) merupakan sedikit dari sekian banyaknya permasalahan geospasia<\/em>l yang ada di Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, pada tahun 2011 lalu pemerintah mengeluarkan UU No. 4 Tahun 2011 tentang pembentukan data informasi geospasial.<\/em><\/p>\n

Sementara itu, Ir Djoko Kuswanto H Meng sebagai salah satu keynote speaker<\/em>, perwakilan Badan Pertanahan Nasional (BPN)  mengatakan, tanah Indonesia merupakan aset yang harus dijaga. "Tanah di Indonesia harus memiliki sertifikasi agar bisa menjamin kepastian bahwa tanah itu adalah milik kita. Ini wajib bagi seluruh warga Indonesia," jelasnya.<\/p>\n

Ia juga mengatakan, data geospasial<\/em> berguna ketika seseorang ingin mengetahui data penguasaan dan kepemilikan tanah di seluruh Indonesia. Oleh sebab itu, data tersebut sangatlah penting. "Dan yang terpenting adalah mengurangi sengketa yang terjadi, baik dalam negeri maupun dengan negeri lain," tambah Djoko.<\/p>\n

Sementara itu, Dr rer nat Sumaryono Msc sebagai pembicara berikutnya lebih membahas tentang permasalahan pemetaan di bumi pertiwi ini. Menurutnya, dahulu pemetaan di Indonesia masih tumpang tindih dan belum ada satu peta yang dijadikan pedoman hingga saat ini.<\/p>\n

Sebagai salah satu pemimpin di Badan Informasi Geospasial<\/em>, ia selalu mengatakan, satu garis dalam peta merupakan suatu wilayah yang sangat luas. "Apalagi jika satu garis tersebut ternyata sebuah garis yang salah, akan sangat berpengaruh besarterhadap keutuhan negara ini," jelasnya.<\/p>\n

Menurutnya, untuk mewujudkan satu peta tersebut, dibutuhkan kerja sama antar instansi pemerintah yang memang secara langsung berhubungan dengan permasalahan tersebut. Dan untuk saat ini, Sumaryono masih merasakan hal tersebut sulit diwujudkan untuk saat ini.
