Olahraga yang sudah ada sejak tahun 2006 tersebut kini digunakan sebagai <em>moment<\/em> untuk latihan bersama. &#8221;Jadi kami (panitia, red) sengaja meng-<em>create<\/em> kegiatan ini cenderung sebagai f<em>un rally,<\/em>&#8221; jelas Yordian Fachry, ketua lomba.<\/p>\n<p>Sesuai dengan tema yang diusung, <em>rally<\/em> kali ini ingin mengangkat sejarah ITS melalui rute yang melalui tempat-tempat bersejarah ITS. &#8221;Kami mengambil referensi dari buku <em>Titik Nol Kampus Perdjoeangan<\/em> untuk mencari tempat-tempat sejarah ITS tersebut,&#8221; tutur mahasiswa Jurusan Teknik Mesin tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih lanjut, tujuan utama dari pelaksanaan Latber Time Rally ini adalah sebagai media untuk meningkatkan minat mahasiswa ITS terhadap olahraga otomotif. Tak hanya itu, <em>rally<\/em> ini juga melatih<em> safety driving <\/em>di mana peserta harus berkendara sesuai ketentuan yang berlaku meski harus berpacu dengan waktu.<\/p>\n<p>Setiap tim dari 70 tim peserta yang mendaftar beranggotakan paling banyak empat orang. Satu sebagai <em>driver, <\/em>dua sebagai navigator, dan satu lagi sebagai penumpang. Untuk rute yang harus dilalui, peserta diberikan soal sejenis teka-teki yang harus dipecahkan untuk menemukan rute yang benar. <\/p>\n<p>Ada tiga jenis soal yang diberikan oleh panitia, antara lain BKR-BKN (Belok kiri-belok kanan, red), tulang ikan di mana arah-arahnya digambarkan menyerupai tulang ikan. Serta yang terakhir adalah tulip yaitu petunjuk yang berupa simbol.<\/p>\n<p>Peserta yang akan memenangkan lomba ini adalah peserta yang memiliki poin paling sedikit. Poin yang dimaksud adalah angka hukuman. Peserta diminta untuk bisa menemukan pos-pos yang telah disediakan. Yakni pos waktu (<em>start-finish<\/em>), pos rute, pos rahasia, dan pos palsu. Setiap terlewatkan satu pos rute peserta akan dikenai hukuman sebesar 300 poin. <\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya mencari juara umum, Latber kali ini juga menyediakan penghargaan bagi peserta wanita terbaik. Yakni tim yang seluruh anggotanya wanita. &#8221;Hal tersebut merupakan apresiasi karena memang masih jarang wanita yang tertarik mengikuti olahraga otomotif seperti ini,&#8221; pungkasnya.
