Tim ITS berhasil menjadi juara I Microsoft Asia Student.net tingkat Nasional. Prestasi bergengsi ini merupakan persembahan dari Jurusan Teknik Informatika ITS. <\/p>\n<p>Padahal,  waktu digelarnya roadshow Microsoft mengenai kompetisi ini di kampus ITS, dibatalkan karena disebabkan  khawatir sepi peminat (maklum saat liburan semester genap). Kemudian acara road show di ITS digabungkan jadi satu dengan road show di Hotel Westin, dihadiri oleh beberapa universitas di Surabaya. Dan kebetulan ITS Online ikut meliput kegiatan tersebut. <\/p>\n<p>Ketika menghadiri kegiatan tersebut hanya sedikit dari mahasiswa ITS yang ikut. Kondisi demikian tentu saja kurang membawa dampak baik bagi mahasiswa ITS karena informasi kegiatan ini tidak tersebar ke mahasiswa yang lainnya padahal ada  kemungkinan mereka yang tidak mengikuti acara tersebut itu, merupakan orang-orang yang mampu dan berkompetensi dalam bidang pembuatan Web Service. Meskipun demikian, Tim ITS ternyata tetap unggul, menjadi pemenangnya dengan judul karya Hot Wing E-Ticketing.<\/p>\n<p>Seperti dilansir detiki-net, pemenang pertama tingkat regional masing-masing anggota tim akan memperoleh notebook dan pocket PC. Juga uang tunai US$ 2.500. Dan  5 komputer desktop bagi perguruan tingginya dan berkesempatan mengunjungi kampus Microsoft Corp di Washinton DC.<\/p>\n<p>Kemenangan Tim ITS ini akan membawa mereka untuk  berkompetisi  ditingkat Asia, dimana akan diikuti 11 negara. Pelaksanan kompetisi ini akan diberlangsungkan di Seoul, Korea Selatan dan bakal di hadiri oleh Bill Gates, Bos Microsoft.<\/p>\n<p>Untuk itulah, seluruh civitas akademika berharap pada kesempatan tersebut Tim ITS akan berhasil kembali. Dengan begitu nama ITS akan harum di dunia internasional. Vivat  ITS!
