Keikutsertaan masyarakat dalam <em>event<\/em> tahunan ITS ini bertujuan untuk mengajak masyarakat menikmati fasilitas lapangan bola ITS. &#8221;Di sekitar sini&nbsp; jarang ada lapangan standar olahraga yang bisa diakses masyarakat untuk main bola,&#8221; tandas Utomo, Panitia Sepak Bola Rektor Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Meski yang bermain bukan seorang atlet olahraga, pertandingan Sepak Bola Rektor Cup dilaksanakan dengan profesional. Panitia Sepak Bola Rektor Cup mengundang langsung wasit dari Persatuan Sepak Bola Surabaya (Persebaya) untuk mengawasi jalannya pertandingan. <\/p>\n<p>&#8221;Sepak bola ini termasuk olah raga keras, jadi wasit yang didatangkan juga harus kompeten di bidangnya,&#8221; tambah Utomo. Kedatangan wasit khusus dari Persebaya ini diharapkan dapat memacu sportivitas dan meminimalisasi kecurangan dalam pertandingan.<\/p>\n<p>Berbeda dengan Sepak Bola Rektor Cup tahun sebelumnya. Kali ini pertandingan berjalan dengan sistem gugur. Artinya, jika kalah dalam pertandingan tim akan langsung tersisih.Perubahan sistem ini bertujuan untuk efisiensi waktu pertandingan. &#8221;Pertandingan berlangsung selama 35 menit, kalau seri akan langsung masuk babak adu penalti,&#8221; tandas Utomo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Adu Ketangkasan Sivitas Akademika ITS<\/strong><br \/>Sivitas akademika ITS juga tidak mau kalah dalam menunjukkan kebolehan bermain bola. Pertandingan Sepak Bola Rektor Cup menghadirkan kelas khusus untuk pertandingan intern ITS. Seluruh fakultas kini tengah dipertandingkan dalam ajang spesial menyambut Dies Natalis ini. &#8221;PENS dan PPNS juga diundang untuk bertanding,&#8221; kata Utomo.<\/p>\n<p>Setiap fakultas mengirimkan satu tim yang berlaga dalam lima sesi pertandingan. Setiap tim nantinya terdiri dari dosen, karyawan dan mahasiswa. Komposisi tersebut merupakan peraturan yang harus diikuti oleh setiap tim. &#8221;Tim yang bermain harus terdiri dari enam orang dosen atau karyawan dan sisanya mahasiswa,&#8221; kata Utomo.<\/p>\n<p>Utomo menambahkan bahwa peraturan tersebut diterapkan agar Rektor Cup tampil berbeda dengan pertandingan olah raga lain di ITS. &#8221;Ini adalah momen dies natalis, kapan lagi dosen, karyawan dan mahasiswa bisa bermain dalam satu lapangan,&#8221; ungkap Utomo. <\/p>\n<p>Kemeriahan Rektor Cup tidak hanya untuk pecinta sepak bola saja. Rektor Cup membagi turnamen olah raga ini ke dalam tujuh sub bidang, di antaranya Sepakbola,&nbsp; Bulu Tangkis, Tenis Lapangan, Tenis Meja, Futsal, Bola Basket, Bola Voli dan Catur. Pesta olahraga ini akan berlangsung hingga akhir Oktober mendatang.
