Tema <em>Advances in Agricurtural and Municipal Waste Technology to Anticipate Food and Enerny Crisis<\/em> terbukti menarik antusiasme peserta cukup tinggi. &#8221;Seminar ini merupakan acara tahunan,&#8221; ungkap Welly Herumurti ST MSc, panitia.<\/p>\n<p>Welly menjelaskan bahwa tujuan seminar ini adalah untuk sharing penelitian dan juga publikasi. Selain itu, seminar ini adalah sarana untuk memfasilitasi mahasiswa agar dapat termotivasi untuk melakukan penelitian. &#8221;Pertukaran pembelajaran juga bisa didapat dari mahasiswa perguruan tinggi lain,&#8221; imbuhnya.<\/p>\n<p>Diskusi panel pun dibuka sebelum berlangsungnya acara presentasi. Beberapa pembicara berkompeten dihadirkan, seperti Prof Wahyu Hadi dari Universitas Teknik Malaysia (UTM), Dr Dadan Kusdianta dari kementrian ESDM dan juga perwakilan dari Holcim serta Chevron. <\/p>\n<p>Makalah yang akan dipresentasikan dibagi menjadi tujuh kategori. Salah satu hal yang menarik adalah banyaknya solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kategori energi terbarukan dari limbah sampah. Misalnya potensi produksi gas metan dari air limbah kantin dengan biofilter anaerob. Peserta dari Universitas Airlangga menjelaskan tentang penelitian yang menggunakan biofilter aerob dalam skala laboraturium. <\/p>\n<p>Berbeda dengan ITS, Thia Zakiyah Oktiviarni menjelaskan seputar potensi asidifikasi dan eutrofikasi dari proses pengolahan sampah di rumah kompos kota Surabaya Barat dan Pusat. Makalah peserta Jurusan Teknik Lingkungan ITS ini meneliti tentang enam rumah kompos yang ada di Surabaya. <\/p>\n<p>Masih banyak solusi menarik yang dipresentasikan pada seminar tersebut. &#8221;Semoga banyak solusi-solusi yang datang dalam menghadapi krisis energi dan lingkungan,&#8221; harap Alia Damayanti, ketua panitia.
