Maret lalu, Stephane sempat mengunjungi ITS. Kala itu, ia berbagi informasi seputar pengelolaan transportasi laut dengan pendekatan layanan berbasis lokasi. Kali ini kuliah tamu dihelat khusus untuk membahas pengembangan algoritma penemuannya, Stream Sampling<\/em>. <\/p>\n

Algoritma sendiri merupakan topik yang sangat berkaitan dengan bidang Teknik Informatika. Dr Ir Hari Gunardi, Kepala Laboratorium Sistem Cerdas menginisiasi kuliah tamu tersebut. Telekonferensi disambut hangat oleh mahasiswa terutama mereka yang menjalankan tugas akhir (TA) seputarnya.<\/p>\n

Stream Sampling<\/em> ini merupakan istilah untuk algoritma yang dikembangkan untuk menunjang sistem data mining. <\/em>Yaitu sistem pengolahan data yang bergerak secara terus menerus. ”Seperti data tentang jumlah pengakses internet di ITS,” Hari mencontohkan.<\/p>\n

Data yang mudah berubah tidak dapat dianalisa menggunakan sistem database <\/em>biasa. Informasi yang terbaharui <\/em>setiap detik memerlukan suatu algoritma spesifik, seperti Stream Sampling. <\/em>Selain itu, algoritma ini juga bisa menghasilkan pemodelan suatu proses alam ke dalam bentuk terkomputasi, seberapapun besar datanya.<\/p>\n

Kerja Sama Lanjutan ITS-NUS<\/strong>
Sebagai perguruan tinggi peringkat 23 dunia versi Times Higher Education, <\/em>kerja sama dengan NUS dirasa sangat potensial. Rangkaian program baru memperkuat hubungan antara ITS dengan institusi ini. <\/p>\n

Kuliah tamu jarak jauh akan berlangsung lebih intensif, dengan topik-topik aktual dalam dunia teknologi informasi. Selain itu, ada pula fasilitas riset di NUS bagi mahasiswa ITS, termasuk dari segi biaya. ”Namanya internship<\/em>, program magang untuk mengerjakan tugas akhir (TA) atau tesis,” jelas Hari. <\/p>\n

Program kuliah jarak jauh ini menjadi inspirasi tersendiri bagi ITS. Program yang sama diharapkan dapat dilakukan oleh ITS dengan perguruan-perguruan tinggi lainnya, terutama yang berada di Indonesia wilayah timur. (qly\/lis)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
