Guru Besar Fakultas Teknik ITB ini memproyeksikan bahwa peluang peralihan ini sangat besar. Hal ini karena Indonesia memiliki cadangan gas lima kali lebih besar daripada cadangan minyak.<\/p>\n<p>Ini berarti bahwa di setiap Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Umum (SPBU) harus ada pula  Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Gas (SPBG). &quot;Ukurannya tidak besar. Cukup tangki berukuran 3&#215;6 meter atau seluas 20 meter persegi dan sebuah dispenser,&quot; katanya.<\/p>\n<p>Hanya saja, langkah tersebut masih memiliki kendala. Antara lain SPBU yang dikelola oleh Pertamina hanya mengizinkan penjualan hasil produk perusahaan tersebut. Namun pakar kelahiran Magelang ini pun menjanjikan akan segera meminta Pertamina untuk mencabut tersebut. Langkah ini pun dinilai mendukung BBG sebagai komoditas rumah tangga, bukan hanya transportasi.<\/p>\n<p>Solusi kedua adalah beralih ke Premix atau BBM dengan angka oktan 90 (RON 90). Bahan bakar ini merupakan campuran bensin Pertamax (oktan 92) dengan Premium (oktan 88). <\/p>\n<p>Harga premix RON 90 ini akan berkisar Rp 7.250 per liter. Dengan harga ini, masyarakat yang selama ini menggunakan Premium maupun Pertamax tidak mengalami perubahan yang cukup besar ketika beralih pada Premix. Apalagi, jika terjadi kenaikan BBM, harga BBM non-subsidi dinilai akan menjadi sangat mahal.<\/p>\n<p>Tetapi pengguna Premix RON 90 nantinya haruslah mereka yang memiliki kendaraan berkapasitas di bawah 1.300 cc. Hal ini bertujuan untuk antisipasi penggunaan Premix oleh masyarakat kelas atas yang mampu membeli bensin non-subsidi.<\/p>\n<p>Solusi ketiga oleh anggota Dewan Energi Nasional ini adalah konversi<em> water to gas <\/em>sebagai energi alternatif. Hal ini mencakup penelitian Kepala Laboratorium Teknik Pembakaran dan Bahan Bakar di Jurusan Teknik Mesin FTI ITS, Prof Dr Ir H Djoko Sungkono MEngSc. <\/p>\n<p>Sebenarnya, riset mengenainya telah berlangsung sejak tahun 2007 dan alatnya telah digunakan dua tahun setelahnya. Hasilnya mampu menghemat bahan bakar sekitar 30 persen, bahkan lebih.
