BKI sebagai perusahan yang melakukan sertivikasi terhadap kapal dan bangunan laut ini menilai bahwa ITS sangat tepat untuk diajak bekerjasama. Hal ini mengingat keunggulan ITS dibidang teknologi kelautan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221;Di Indonesia memang ITS yang unggul di bidang kapal dan bangunan laut. Oleh&nbsp; karena itu sudah sering kali kita mengajak ITS untuk bekerjasama,&#8221; ujar Capt. Purnama MM selaku Pimpinan BKI. Lebih jauh ia menjelaskan bahwa BKI berharap ITS dapat meningkatkan kualitas sumber dayanya melalui kegiatan pendidikan dan pelatihan.<\/p>\n<p>Salah satu pelaksanaan pendidikan yang akan segera direalisasikan dari kerjasama ini adalah bidang Damage Stability. &#8221;Pendidikan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan sumber daya kami dalam melaksankan survey kapal,&#8221; tuturnya. Purnama juga berpendapat bahwa seorang teknisi butuh keseimbangan anatara pengetahuan praktis dan teorinya.<\/p>\n<p>Kerjasama pelaksanaan pendidikan ini akan dilangsungkan selama 90 jam pelajaran dalam satu tahun. Rektor ITS, Prof Dr Ir Tri Yogi Yuwono DEA mengatakan bahwa berangkat dari kerjasama ini, tak menutup kemungkinan akan dilaksanakan kerjasama dalam bentuk yang lain. &#8221;Karena hubungan antara BKI dan ITS memang dekat, banyak alumni ITS yangs sekarang bekerja di BKI,&#8221; pungkasnya.
