Acara ini berlangsung sederhana, setelah shalat Ashar para calon jamaah haji, beberapa petinggi ITS dan rektor duduk melingkar di tengah ruang utama untuk memulai acara pelepasan jamaah haji. Tahun ini ada sekitar 24 orang dari dosen, karyawan dan karyawan purnatugas yang akan berangkat haji.<\/p>\n

”Acara ini merupakan inisiatif rektor dan takmir masjid untuk mendoakan para jamaah haji agar diberi keselamatan, pertolongan dan kemudahan dalam menjalakan ibadah ini,” tutur Drs Wahyudin M SI koordinator acara ini.<\/p>\n

Dalam sambutannya, Rektor ITS, Prof Dr Ir Triyogi Yuwono berbagi pengalamannya ketika ia berangkat haji dan juga memberikan nasehat untuk memanfaatkan sebaik-baiknya momen ibadah haji. ”Atas nama keluarga besar ITS, kami berdoa untuk kelancaran ibadah haji bapak dan ibu,” ujar rektor kelahiran Tulungagung ini.<\/p>\n

Acara ditutup dengan ceramah dari Prof Dr Ir Abdullah Shahab MSc dan do’a dari imam masjid Manarul Ilmi, Imam Maksum. ”Haji merupakan salah satu keajaiban yang tiada habisnya, bayangkan bagaimana bisa manusia di seluruh pelosok dunia bahkan yang di keputih ingin pergi kesana,” ujar Guru besar ITS yang ke-100 ini.<\/p>\n
