Suparto memotivasi para peserta agar semakin cinta dengan kearifan lokal budaya Indonesia, khususnya Jawa. &#8221;Nenek moyang kita itu sudah mengenal modifikasi cuaca. Nenek moyang kita itu cerdas, mereka sudah mengenal <em>pranoto mongso<\/em> (ilmu tata iklim dan astronomi, red),&#8221; cerita Parto.<\/p>\n<p>Di inti pembicaraan, Parto turut memaparkan fakta dari Greenpeace, Indonesia merupakan perusak hutan nomor satu. &#8221;Wetland International mencatat Indonesia sebagai penyumbang karbondioksida nomor tiga setelah USA dan Cina,&#8221; imbuhnya. Food and Agriculture Organizatio<em><span class=&quot;st&quot;><\/span><\/em>n (FAO) juga mengatakan, tahun 2000-2005 luas hutan Indonesia berkurang sebanyak 9,4 juta hektar.<\/p>\n<p>Pemateri yang juga hadir diantaranya Dirjen Bina Usaha Kementrian Kehutanan RI , Dr Ir Iman Santoso mewakili Menteri Kehutanan RI, Zulkifli Hasan. Selain itu turut juga dalam seminar, Dr Ir Transtoto Handadari SHA MSc mewakili Asosiasi Pengusaha Hutan Indonesia (APHI) .<\/p>\n<p>Pembicara terakhir, Guru Besar Fakultas Kehutanan UGM Prof Dr Ir Mohammad Na&#8217;iem M Agr Sc membahas Peran dan Fungsi Hutan secara Ekologi dan Hubungannya terhadap Perubahan Iklim Global. Na&#8217;iem memaparkan berbagai fungsi hutan, salah satunya sebagai tempat tumbuhnya berbagai macam obat untuk penyakit. &#8221;Potensi hutan di Indonesia sangat besar. Hutan Indonesia memiliki keanekaragamanan hayati tertinggi di dunia,&#8221; terang Na&#8217;iem.<\/p>\n<p>Namun sayangnya, sekarang hutan di Indonesia sudah mengalami banyak kerusakan.&nbsp; Sumber kerusakan hutan dan lingkungan diantaranya disebabkan <em>overcutting<\/em> dan<em> illegal coal mining<\/em>. Na&#8217;iem pun sempat menampilkan gambar-gambar yang menohok. Diantaranya, penghuni hutan bukan lagi hewan dan tumbuhan, melainkan alat-alat berat.<\/p>\n<p>Di salah satu slide presentasi Na&#8217;iem menyisipkan pesan melalui sebuah poster bertuliskan <em>&#8216;menanam tumbuhan dimana pun oleh siapa pun di bumi&#8217;<\/em> . Ia mengingatkan pentingnya tebang pilih tanaman demi keberlanjutan kehidupan.
