Dikemas dalam bentuk workshop, acara ini dibuka dengan pemutaran sebuah video tentang gambaran bumi masa kini. Disampaikan jika bumi sedang mengalami masa tidak sehat. Saat ini bumi memiliki sebuah lapisan di luar atmosfir yang terbentuk oleh CO2<\/sub> dan SO2<\/sub>. Akibatnya terjadi pemanasan global. ”Semua ini bukan takdir Tuhan. Tetapi ulah manusia,” terang Sandra Winarsa, pemateri.<\/p>\n

Acara yang digelar di Jurusan Teknik Lingkungan ini lebih banyak mengajak para mahasiswa untuk berperan dalam menyelesaikan lingkungan. Para peserta diajak mengevaluasi kebiasaan yang secara tidak sadar membawa bumi ke dalam kehancuran.<\/p>\n

E-Idea adalah sebuah kompetisi besutan British Council bersama dengan Lloyd\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA). Kompetisi ini bertujuan mencari para inovator-inovator muda yang secara konsisten peduli dengan lingkungan. ”Cukup dua syarat, yaitu memiliki kesadaran lingkungan hidup dan ide kreatif,” papar salah satu Programme Officer British Council tersebut.<\/p>\n

Kompetisi ini digelar dalam dua kategori yaitu kategori pemula (start up<\/em>) dan kategori lanjutan (step up<\/em>). Untuk kategori pemula peserta hanya perlu mengirimkan gagasan mereka. Baik itu berupa produk, sebuah program, atau apapun yang berbasis kepedulian lingkungan. Sedangkan kategori lanjutan adalah untuk program yang telah berjalan minimal satu tahun.<\/p>\n

Tidak dibutuhkan proposal untuk mengikuti kompetisi ini. Mereka hanya perlu mengirimkan formulir via email. ”Yang penting ide mereka kreatif dan merupakan solusi atas topik yang diberikan. Yaitu pengurangan dan efisiensi limbah, transportasi atau perjalanan, efisiensi energi dan efisiensi air serta desain berlanjutan,” terang Sandra.<\/p>\n

Dari ide yang diberikan akan diseleksi. Bagi yang lolos harus melalui tes wawancara dengan para pakar lingkungan. Untuk memastikan kebenaran ide peserta, nantinya akan dilakukam cek lapangan bagi peserta yang lolos tahap interview<\/em>. Tahap terakhir akan terpilih enam peserta yang akan mendapat dana hibah untuk merealisasikan program mereka.<\/p>\n

Para pemenang ini tidak hanya sekedar akan menerima hadiah, tetapi juga akan dibina selama satu tahun. Pembinaan ini meliputi pelatihan project management, leadership <\/em>dan juga social entrepreneur<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Selain Sandra, acara ini juga menghadirkan Budiono, salah satu alumni Climate Champion 2008. Alumni Teknik Lingkungan ITS ini banyak bercerita mengenai pengalamannya dari mulai mendaftar hingga selama menjadi anggota Climate Generation. ”Banyak ilmu yang saya dapatkan. Utamanya bagaimana bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan," terang mahasiswa angkatan 2000 ini.<\/p>\n

Budiono juga sangat mengharapkan akan muncul kembali kader-kader ITS yang peduli terhadap lingkungan. Menurutnya, telah banya mahasiswa ITS yang berkontribusi terhadap lingkungan.
