Bahkan, mereka dinilai tidak memperhatikan hal yang berbau ramah lingkungan. Termasuk energi yang digunakan di Indonesia. Pernyataan tersebut pun disanggah Imam Asy\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ari.<\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u02dc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Banyak barang yang kita pakai berasal dari barang tambang, misal botol minuman ini,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 ungkap Imam. Yang penting, lanjut Imam, eksploitasi dilakukan sesuai porsi kebutuhan dan tetap memperhatikan kondisi lingkungan. Seperti halnya, eksploitasi batu bara dan minyak bumi sebagai sumber energi yang menempati jumlah cukup besar untuk digunakan.<\/p>\n<p>Mengatasi hal tersebut, ESDM berusaha mengembangkan energi alternatif. Menurut Imam, <em>geothermal<\/em> bisa menjadi jawaban baik untuk masalah ini. \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Kita sudah memetakan daerah-daerah di Jawa Timur yang memilki kandungan panas bumi,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 tutur pria alumni Teknik Kimia sembari menunjukkan peta Jawa Timur.<\/p>\n<p>Meski saat ini panas bumi dinilai hanya memiliki potensi kecil, namun justru peluang dalam persaingan global lebih besar. Ditambah lagi, penggunaan panas bumi benar-benar berdampak baik bagi keadaan lingkungan. Imam menunjukkan, kondisi hutan yang gersang beralih menjadi hijau dan subur setelah adanya pengelolaan panas bumi di lokasi tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Satu hal yang Imam harapkan adalah pihak Perguruan Tinggi, seperti mahasiswa, mau turut terlibat. \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Sehingga, pengembangan energi terbarukan tak ada hambatan lagi,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 tambah Imam lagi.<\/p>\n<p>Menanggapi pemaparan Imam, Agus Sutjahjo dari BLH menuturkan pemanfaatan energi mampu memberikan dampak terhadap lingkungan sekitar 25 persen. Dengan menggunakan energi ramah lingkungan sama artinya dengan mengurangi emisi bagi lingkungan. \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Panas bumi harus bisa menunjang kebutuhan energi nasional,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 ungkap pria yang pernah bekerja di Maspion.<\/p>\n<p>Ia menambahkan, pembangkit listrik yang digunakan harus ramah lingkungan pula. \u00e2\u20ac\u02dc\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Target kami sekitar 60 persen pembangkit harus ramah lingkungan,\u00e2\u20ac\u2122\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 tandas Agus yang tidak lain merupakan alumni Teknik Kimia pula.<\/p>\n<p>Agus berharap, kepedulian terhadap lingkungan juga dimulai dari pribadi masing-masing. Misalnya, membeli produk kemasan yang ramah lingkungan, mengurangi penggunaan kendaraan bermotor, dan menggunakan tas kain <em>grocery<\/em> bukan kantong plastik.
