Kegiatan Interaktif Foreign Language Community (FLC) yang digelar oleh UPBG ITS mengusung topik \u201cAm I the Main Character? Talking, Listening, and Giving Others Space\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Kampus ITS, ITS News<\/b> \u2014<\/strong> Unit Pusat Bahasa Global (UPBG)<\/a> Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> terus berupaya menghadirkan ruang pengembangan kemampuan bahasa asing bagi civitas akademika dan masyarakat luas. Melalui program rutin bertajuk Foreign Language Community<\/i> (FLC), UPBG ITS memfasilitasi forum percakapan interaktif dua arah yang digelar secara gratis setiap pekan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kepala Subbagian Tata Usaha UPBG ITS Mizati Dewi Wasdiana SHum menjelaskan, FLC diinisiasi sebagai wadah untuk membangun kepercayaan diri peserta dalam mempraktikkan bahasa asing. Pendekatan dialogis ini diterapkan agar para peserta berani untuk mengekspresikan diri tanpa takut dihakimi. \u201cFLC hadir sebagai ruang nyaman untuk mengasah kemampuan berbicara, siapa pun bisa datang dan mengikuti kegiatannya,\u201d terangnya.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Berbeda dari kelas formal yang cenderung satu arah, FLC mengusung metode pembelajaran interaktif dua arah. Ragam kegiatan dikemas santai lewat sesi percakapan, <\/span>story telling<\/span><\/i>, permainan edukatif, <\/span>potluck<\/span><\/i>, hingga lokakarya kerajinan tangan. Variasi bahasa yang dihadirkan mencakup bahasa Inggris, Mandarin, Jerman, Arab, dan Korea sesuai dengan kursus yang tersedia di UPBG. \u201cKami ingin para peserta merasa nyaman dalam mempelajari bahasa asing lewat FLC,\u201d imbuh Mizati.<\/span><\/p>\n

Program yang diadakan setiap minggu di hari Kamis ini dapat diikuti oleh seluruh civitas ITS dan juga khalayak umum, termasuk mahasiswa asing yang sedang menempuh studi di ITS. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, kehadiran mahasiswa internasional turut memperkaya atmosfer pertukaran budaya secara langsung. Hal ini pun didukung dengan topik diskusi yang bervariasi setiap minggunya, sehingga peserta dapat mengeksplorasi wawasan baru sembari mempraktikkan kosakata kontekstual.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pada perjumpaan teranyar, FLC menghadirkan sesi interaktif bertema <\/span>Am I the Main Character? Talking, Listening, and Giving Others Space<\/span><\/i>. Mengangkat tema yang lekat dengan dinamika sosial generasi muda, pertemuan ini mengajak para peserta merefleksikan seni bertutur sekaligus pentingnya memberi ruang bagi lawan bicara. Bahasan yang kontekstual dan dekat dengan keseharian tersebut membuat suasana percakapan mengalir tanpa rasa canggung.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Melalui penyediaan akses belajar yang merata, UPBG ITS turut berupaya mendukung agenda <\/span>Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/i> (SDGs) terutama poin ke-4 mengenai Pendidikan Berkualitas. Komitmen tersebut dibuktikan lewat upaya membekali generasi muda dengan kompetensi komunikasi global yang adaptif. \u201cKami berharap forum ini dapat membuka peluang bagi mahasiswa untuk memperkaya kemampuan berbahasa asing,\u201d pungkas Mizati.<\/span> (*)<\/strong><\/p>\n
