Tim peneliti dari <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/fasilitas\/laboratorium\/laboratorium-elektrokimia-dan-korosi\/\">Laboratorium Elektrokimia dan Korosi<\/a>, Departemen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.its.ac.id\/tkimia\/\">Teknik Kimia ITS<\/a> mengembangkan prototipe baterai isi ulang aluminium-udara berbasis air atau hydro-aluminium bernama AluBayu.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Baterai dengan sistem<em> dual-hydrogel<\/em> tersebut diproyeksikan sebagai solusi penyimpanan energi masa depan yang aman dan ramah lingkungan. Beberapa di antaranya adalah anoda dari aluminium, elektronik padat dari gel polymer electrolyte yang terbuat dari sabut kelapa, serta elektronik cair yang memanfaatkan NaCl dari air laut. Selain itu, terdapat juga komponen katoda yang bersumber dari nikel dan besi.<\/p>\n<p>Melalui pemanfaatan komponen-komponen tersebut, AluBayu menawarkan keunggulan dalam penggunaan sistem elektrolit ganda berperekat padat. Sistem tersebut memisahkan jenis elektrolit antara kutub anoda yang merupakan kutub negatif dan katoda sebagai kutub positif. \u201cPemanfaatan dua jenis elektrolit yang berbeda itu berfungsi dalam mengoptimalkan reaksi kimia antara logam aluminium dan oksigen udara,\u201d terang Guru Besar Teknik Kimia ITS tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Saat ini, satu modul prototipe AluBayu terdiri dari 20 sel berukuran kompak yakni 4&#215;6 cm dengan bobot sekitar 20,2 gram. Modul tersebut dijelaskan mampu menghasilkan tegangan nominal sekitar 11,6 Volt dengan nilai arus dan daya eksisting sekitar 0,15 mA. Namun, Haryo memberikan beberapa catatan yang masih harus terus dikembangkan, salah satunya yakni daya tahan baterai yang masih lemah. \u201cPrototipe yang ada akan kita bawa ke Jakarta untuk ditelaah dan dikaji lebih lanjut bersama arah kebijakan manajemen perusahaan,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n<p>Pengembangan baterai isi ulang ramah lingkungan yang dikembangkan oleh para peneliti ITS ini menjadi bukti bagaimana ITS mendorong capaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
