The Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2020-2024 period, Dr (HC) Ir Tri Rismaharini MT, was present as a speaker on National Insight in the series of PKKMB ITS Camp 2026.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

ITS Campus, ITS News \u2014\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>The Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS)<\/span><\/a>\u00a0remains committed to realizing its vision of becoming a campus that impacts the wider community. This commitment was demonstrated, among other things, through the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) event, which featured Dr. (HC) Ir. Tri Rismaharini, MT, as the main speaker at the ITS Pertamina Sports Hall (GOR) on Monday (3\/8).<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The Indonesian Minister of Social Affairs for the 2020-2024 period was one of the speakers at the ITS Camp, part of the PKKMB series, entitled ”\u00a0<\/span>National Life, Statehood, National Identity, and Fostering National Defense Awareness<\/span><\/em>\u00a0.” Through her long journey leading the city of Surabaya, Risma encouraged new ITS students to become a resilient generation capable of addressing the nation’s challenges. “I want to emphasize the importance of a warrior mentality, integrity, and collaboration in facing global challenges,” Risma emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Mayor of Surabaya for the 2010-2020 period, this struggle can begin by taking full advantage of learning opportunities with a sense of responsibility. Risma believes that studying at ITS is a trust that must be fulfilled through meaningful work and community service. “This opportunity must be repaid with hard work and tangible results, just as ITS has provided through the innovations of its lecturers and students,” said the ITS Architecture alumna.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first female leader of Surabaya also shared her experiences in developing the city through various innovations. She explained that all the changes she has made have been born not only from hard work, but also from the courage to take risks and an unyielding spirit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Doctor Honoris Causa (HC) recipient from ITS also noted that the involvement of ITS experts and innovators is crucial to the success of each of her programs. “This is because this country must trust in the capabilities of its own resources and not rely on others,” Risma emphasized.<\/span><\/p>\n

This enthusiasm aligns with the message delivered by ITS Rector Prof. Dr. (HC) Ir. Bambang Pramujati, ST., MSc.Eng., PhD., when opening the 2026\/2027 Academic Year PKKMB. He stated that this new phase marks ITS’s first step in developing a superior generation ready to contribute to Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Professor of the ITS Department of Mechanical Engineering stated that ITS not only produces graduates who excel in science and technology. This Campus of Heroes also continuously strives to instill integrity, social awareness, and the courage to provide solutions for society. “ITS produces graduates who are intelligent and care about national issues, in line with the institution’s vision as an impactful campus,” he said proudly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bambang further explained that future challenges require graduates who are adaptable and globally competitive. Technical skills alone are no longer sufficient to face increasingly rapid change. Students must also possess empathy, creativity, and the courage to make decisions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through a series of ITS Camp activities within the PKKMB (Community Service Program), new students are introduced to academic culture, the institution’s noble values, and campus life. Students are encouraged to build networks, be active in organizations, and develop their potential in various fields. The Rector hopes these experiences will equip them for the professional world and social life. “Make your college years the best time to grow and serve the nation,” Bambang concluded before thousands of new ITS students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Providing spiritual insight for new students in the PKKMB ITS Camp 2026 series which took place at the ITS Manarul Ilmi Mosque<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

For your information, 7,060 new ITS students for the 2026\/2027 academic year participated in a series of ITS Camps, which took place simultaneously at three different locations on the ITS campus. The activities were divided into three waves, taking place from August 3-5, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is to ensure all participants receive an optimal learning experience. Each wave includes indoor material sessions at the ITS Pertamina Sports Hall, outdoor activities around campus, spiritual insight sessions at the ITS Manarul Ilmi Mosque, and independent learning through\u00a0<\/span>a Massive Open Online Course<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(MOOC).<\/span><\/p>\n

The first wave was attended by 2,225 students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Planning, and Geoscience (FTSPK) with 895 students; the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD) with 1,160 students; and the Faculty of Medicine and Health (FKK) with 170 students. Furthermore, the second wave which will take place on Tuesday (4\/8) will be attended by 2,405 students from the Faculty of Vocational Studies (FV) with 1,020 students, the Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK) with 625 students, and the Faculty of Creative Design and Digital Business (FDKB) with 760 students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, in the third wave, Wednesday (August 5), 2,430 students will participate, consisting of 1,130 students from the Faculty of Industrial Technology and Systems Engineering (FTIRS) and 1,300 students from the Faculty of Intelligent Electrical and Informatics Technology (FTE-IC). This division is designed to ensure all new students can effectively participate in each series of ITS Camps while strengthening character development, national insight, spirituality, and readiness for academic life at ITS.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to Tri Rismaharini, the PKKMB activities on the second and third days will also feature other public figures. Two of them are the Deputy Governor of East Java, Emil Elestianto Dardak, on the second day, and the Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Diktisaintek) of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Stella Christie, Ph.D., who is scheduled to speak on the third day.<\/span><\/p>\n

The commitment and enthusiasm demonstrated by ITS in welcoming new students in 2026 is part of the Campus of Heroes’ efforts to realize the ideals of\u00a0<\/span>the Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(SDGs), particularly SDG point 4, which aims to create quality education for the nation.\u00a0<\/span>(ITS Public Relations)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
