Kampus ITS, ITS News \u2013<\/strong> Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan dengan beribu-ribu pulau yang membentang luas. Untuk mendukung konektivitas laut maupun udara, dibutuhkan teknologi otonom yang mampu bekerja secara terintegrasi. Sebagai solusi, Guru Besar ke-256 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS)<\/a> Prof Dr Ir Ari Santoso DEA menggagas sistem kendaraan otonom maritim dan udara.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dosen Departemen Teknik Elektro ITS tersebut menyampaikan bahwa kondisi geografis Indonesia kerap memicu tantangan dalam berbagai aspek. Permasalahan ini mencakup konektivitas, keselamatan, komunikasi, dan distribusi antarpulau. Hal ini meliputi keselamatan pelayaran, inspeksi kabel bawah laut, pemantauan sumber daya kelautan, hingga mitigasi bencana.<\/p>\n

Sebagai langkah solutif, profesor asal Surabaya ini merancang tiga pilar kendaraan otonom untuk wilayah permukaan laut, bawah laut, serta udara. Teknologi tersebut diwujudkan dalam bentuk autonomous underwater vehicle<\/em> (AUV), unmanned surface vehicle<\/em> (USV), dan unmanned aerial vehicle<\/em> (UAV). \u201cKetiganya merupakan integrasi dari berbagai disiplin ilmu, antara lain mekanika, hidrodinamika, aerodinamika, elektronika, sensor, dan kecerdasan buatan,\u201d urainya.<\/p>\n

Secara konsep, Ari mengungkapkan bahwa sistem kendaraan otonom yang dikembangkan ini bekerja dalam siklus tertutup atau closed-loop system<\/em>. Pola tersebut terdiri dari enam komponen utama, yakni measurement, perception, guidance, control, actuator<\/em>, dan environment<\/em>. \u201cKeenamnya saling terhubung dalam aliran informasi dan aksi yang berulang untuk menghasilkan keputusan serta gerakan yang adaptif, aman, dan optimal,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n

Mengulik lebih jauh, setiap komponen memiliki fungsi dan peran yang spesifik. Measurement <\/em>bertugas membaca data sensor, perception<\/em> memahami lingkungan, sedangkan guidance<\/em> menentukan arah dan lintasan. Sementara itu, control <\/em>berperan menjaga kestabilan dan akurasi, actuator <\/em>menjalankan perintah fisik, serta environment <\/em>bertindak sebagai sumber gangguan yang harus diantisipasi oleh sistem.<\/p>\n

Melalui pengaplikasian tersebut, teknologi AUV, USV, dan UAV dapat bekerja secara optimal di wilayah masing-masing. Pada ranah maritim, lelaki kelahiran 18 Februari 1966 ini membeberkan bahwa AUV ditempatkan sebagai teknologi untuk menginspeksi bawah laut, seperti kabel listrik, pipa, hingga terumbu karang. Di sisi lain, USV berperan sebagai wahana permukaan guna komunikasi dan pengamatan laut. \u201cSementara di udara, UAV berfungsi untuk memperluas jangkauan pengamatan,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/p>\n

Dengan demikian, sistem kendaraan otonom yang digagas Ari ini menjadi teknologi strategis yang memperkuat kedaulatan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) atas wilayah kepulauannya. Langkah ini sejalan dengan komitmen ITS terhadap Sustainable Development Goals<\/em> (SDGs) poin ke-9 tentang Industri, Inovasi, dan Infrastruktur serta poin ke-14 tentang Ekosistem Laut. \u201cLaut Indonesia bukan hanya batas wilayah, melainkan ruang ekonomi, energi, data, inovasi, sejarah, dan kedaulatan,\u201d tegas Ari mengingatkan.
