Kurniawan Hidayat, I Made Raghayana, beserta tim mahasiswa Program Studi D4 Teknik Sipil ITS mengembangkan\u00a0G-Mix Innovations (Geopolymer Mix Innovations), sebuah program riset yang berfokus pada pengembangan semen geopolimer berbasis\u00a0<em>fly ash<\/em> sebagai alternatif semen Portland yang lebih ramah lingkungan dan rendah emisi karbon.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>G-Mix Innovations lahir dari kolaborasi multidisiplin antara mahasiswa dan dosen ITS dalam mengembangkan material konstruksi berkelanjutan. Di bawah bimbingan dosen Departemen Teknik Infrastruktur Sipil, Ir Nur Ahmad Husin ST MT IPU ASEAN Eng Dr, program ini tidak hanya berorientasi pada publikasi ilmiah, tetapi juga diarahkan untuk mempercepat hilirisasi hasil penelitian sehingga mampu menghasilkan teknologi yang siap diimplementasikan dan memberikan nilai tambah bagi industri konstruksi nasional.<\/p>\n<p>Pengembangan G-Mix memperoleh dukungan penuh dari ITS melalui Program\u00a0Higher Education for Technology and Innovation (HETI) yang didanai oleh\u00a0Asian Development Bank (ADB) Loan No. 4110-INO ITS Batch 1 Tahun Anggaran 2026\u00a0pada skema\u00a0Prototype Research (PR). Pendanaan tersebut dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung pengembangan prototipe, validasi ilmiah, serta peningkatan tingkat kesiapan teknologi (<em>Technology Readiness Level<\/em>\u00a0atau TRL) sebagai tahapan menuju hilirisasi dan komersialisasi produk.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, G-Mix Innovations juga memperoleh pendanaan melalui\u00a0Leadership Project Bakti Nusa Dompet Dhuafa. Program ini berfokus pada penguatan kapasitas mahasiswa dalam kepemimpinan, kewirausahaan berbasis teknologi, serta pembangunan ekosistem inovasi yang mampu menjembatani hasil riset dengan kebutuhan industri dan masyarakat.<\/p>\n<p>Melalui penelitian tugas akhirnya, Kurniawan mengembangkan\u00a0one-part geopolymer cement\u00a0atau\u00a0dry-mix geopolymer cement\u00a0berbahan dasar\u00a0<em>fly ash<\/em>. Berbeda dengan geopolimer konvensional yang memerlukan larutan aktivator alkali pada saat pencampuran, inovasi ini mengusung konsep\u00a0&#8220;Just Add Water&#8221;, yaitu seluruh aktivator alkali telah dicampurkan dalam bentuk padat selama proses fabrikasi, sehingga pada tahap aplikasi pengguna hanya perlu menambahkan air. Konsep ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemudahan penggunaan, keselamatan kerja, konsistensi mutu, serta memperluas peluang penerapan geopolimer di sektor konstruksi.<\/p>\n<p>Penelitian tersebut bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh variasi konsentrasi natrium hidroksida (NaOH) terhadap karakteristik semen geopolimer. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui karakterisasi material menggunakan\u00a0X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF),\u00a0X-Ray Diffraction (XRD),\u00a0Particle Size Distribution (PSD), dan\u00a0Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive X-ray (SEM-EDX)\u00a0untuk mengidentifikasi komposisi kimia, fase mineral, distribusi ukuran partikel, serta mikrostruktur material. Selain itu, dilakukan pengujian sifat fisik semen berdasarkan\u00a0SNI 2049:2015\u00a0yang meliputi kehalusan, konsistensi normal, waktu pengikatan, kekekalan volume, dan kuat tekan mortar. Pengembangan G-Mix juga terus diperluas melalui riset varian mortar perekat bata ringan yang memperoleh pendanaan\u00a0Strategic Research Grant (SRG) ITS Tipe B Tahun 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Rangkaian penelitian tersebut bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang komprehensif mengenai hubungan antara komposisi aktivator alkali, pembentukan mikrostruktur, dan sifat fisik semen geopolimer. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi landasan ilmiah dalam pengembangan semen geopolimer berbasis <em>fly ash<\/em> yang memiliki performa setara dengan semen Portland dengan jejak karbon yang jauh lebih rendah.<\/p>\n<p>Lebih dari sekadar menghasilkan inovasi material, G-Mix Innovations menjadi bukti bahwa riset mahasiswa dapat berkembang melalui sinergi antara penelitian akademik, pembinaan kepemimpinan, kewirausahaan berbasis teknologi, serta dukungan pendanaan riset yang berkelanjutan. Kolaborasi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa hasil penelitian di perguruan tinggi tidak hanya berhenti pada skala laboratorium, tetapi juga mampu berkembang menuju hilirisasi teknologi, pembentukan startup berbasis riset, serta penguatan ekosistem inovasi nasional.<\/p>\n<p>Ke depan, G-Mix Innovations akan terus dikembangkan melalui peningkatan tingkat kesiapan teknologi, pengujian pada skala yang lebih luas, serta kolaborasi dengan berbagai mitra industri dan pemerintah.
